Assassins Creed 3: American Revolution

While you can't help but think of Assasins Creed as climbing.... the crux of the game is being an assassin, not climbing. That can translate to any location and time period. The story is Assassins through the ages, they won't ditch it but, would it really make a difference if a new game didn't focus on climbing? At what point is climbing just irritating and boring rather than "gameplay", why are people so utterly resistant to anything new at all?

I must be honest, after reading that I've changed my mind, it sounds great. It seems I was wrong about the story, there will be good and bad people from each side that you'll be friends/enemies with and the assassin is actually half English.

If the climbing element was not present with AC1 NO ONE would have bought it. the fact that they lie and dribble on for like 8 games is what is pathetic, climbing or not it's still going to be crap as compared to 1 and 2.

If only they kept to the story of desmond and the link to the assasins over the 3 titles they said it would be,instead of just the crappy game missions it would be a much better franchise and people would want more.

Now it's just a nickle and dime race to see how much money they can grab before people realize that from AC1 the story has been changed about a million times, and now they are struggling to "end" it, so they may as well poach money from idiots.

No, tell us what you really think.

Remember that in the first game you were killing people from both sides, this should be amazing though. I wanted to see AC3 set in china after watching the embers video however :( Graphical wise it looks stunning!

Agree with all the comments supporting it :p

Although I can see why a lot of people aren't happy with it. I'm eager to see the reveal trailer for it!

I don't think it's all going to be out in the open. America wasn't all pokey vilages with seven log cabins, a church and a shop in the 1700s. :p The east coast where everyone first arrived was a lot more developed than the western parts. Take Washington DC and Boston as an example.

Any of the big ports on the east coast could make great "city" settings.

Hehe yeah I'm not amazing at US history, Boston does seem like a good candidate. :)

I got bored of the AC franchise after they said it would only be an initial 3 games, but then got greedy with half-games and DLC's, what are they up to now 6? games. pfft.

I'm not doubting how good they are, just the fact that a franchise is never ever built around it's foundations anymore. just lie after lie for people to spend £$£$.

I feel exactly the same. I love the story behind AC and can't wait to finish it, but the last couple have just been complete crap. Barely anything gets mentioned before the game actually finishes, becomes incredibly obvious that they're just trying to extend it further and futher.
