Assassins Creed 3: American Revolution

FINALLY A BOW AND ARROW!

I just can't understand why this wasn't in earlier games. Unless they were avoiding copyright infringement on Thief franchise :p

For those complaining that AC2 was a re-hash of AC1, you couldn't be futher from the truth. Way, way, way more content in AC2. The following games added yet more, particularly AC:R, though in my opinion it had too much change. Bombs, Eagle Sense, and some of the control changes they made were just too much. Not massively over the top though, I still enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed AC2 but it definitely felt like more of the same. I did every mission in both 1 and 2 and I felt like the changes were more superficial than any exciting new gameplay.

Jesus, the turn around times on these games now are just like call of duty. Looks like the same game just in a different setting, just like call of duty...

Apparently this one has been in development for 3 years so that means Brotherhood and Revelations were produced while this one was also in development and they would have had to literally release AC2 then instantly start work on AC3

AC2 was much more than a rehash of AC1. AC:R was clearly much more than a rehash of AC:B. The only game in the entire franchise that I would actually call a rehash is AC:B.

I wholy agree, AC2 and AC:B might as well be exactly the same game to me. AC:R is much much more of a clear change, mostly due to the completely new setting, new art assets, new characters, and new gameplay mechanics.

With regards to ACIII, eager for the day that we see some actual game play footage! At first I was quite skeptical, but it really does seem they've put some thought into the setting and so on. Roll on October!

Yes yes and yes. AC2 is a vast improvement over 1, with more fleshed out missions and sidequests, and a much more involving story. May be worth to see if there's ever a AC2 bundle sale on Steam at some point with the 2 standalone continuations (Brotherhood and Revelations) at reduced price. Or wait until the next Ubi catalogue sale comes around on Steam
