yup also looks really nice playing on ultra btw have noticed some odd bugs you would have thought they would have got rid of before release like when hiding behide a wall the character doesn't know which wall to used and keeping jumping between them

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I been reading about all the problems but having never had any real problems with Ubi games before I thought, what the hell?

So after about 4 hours waiting for it to load it kept doing the 'ACU.exe stopped working' thing. I tried changing the resolution down and restarting as has been suggested where i actually got into a game. Cue slideshow, comedy hair and a full second lag between inputs on the menu screen. This is crazy.

Nothing changes while people continue to buy their games. What incentive have they to change when they still bring the money in.

Until people talk with their wallets and stop buying sub par crap then justifying it. They and many others will not change.

Is there any way to set the render distance? Everything that appears to be in the distance isn't rendering properly whereas everything underneath me is. Pic showing what I mean in spoiler.

seems strange . here is the same scene 1080p highest settings on 2x780's sli.

Nvidias drivers have been rubbish lately . No one seems to be having a go at them. I am having to use the 344.60s because the new ones give me awful slowdown in battlefield 4. (still get stutters with these drivers in that game). Still no decent sli profiles in certain games. Nvidia = Arse. At the moment.

This is my attitude. After buying The Evil Within on launch day, it was the final straw. I'm more than happy to buy their games, but only when they actually work. After all, even if a game is completely broken when you buy it, you can't get any kind of customer service and a refund is totally out of the question as far as the vendor is concerned.

They need to stop treating early adopters who pay full price like beta testers.

I have played every Assassins' Creed game soon after release but this one I won't.

It is not the crashes and buggy state of the game, or the extremely high specs that it stopping me but like others have said the microtransactions.

I read one review, can't remember which, that implied that some hidden chests wouldn't unlock without spending cash. Can anyone confirm this?

Not strictly true. There are chests that will not open unless you play the companion app though, and some that need you to link if to some kind of extra uplay account or somethibg:rolleyes:

I get this now and then but not all too often. On a small scale then one or two things sometimes don't load and you get a fuzzy distant 2005 era distant texture that looks god awful. I've had that a few times, early on it points you to a church to scale and it looked like it was from a different game.

But half a scene loading distant/awful textures seems to be more of a bug than actually terrible draw distance. Most of the time as in the pic someone else showed the buildings are rendering okay. But it's just one more bug. You can be in the middle of a mission or a fancy cutscene and randomly everything drops back to like playing a 2005 game.

So many poorly done effects, lots of bugs. I'm constantly seeing character running in midair, or falling from nowhere, or clustering together getting stuck, dresses changing colour. I've had to reload twice for getting stuck in random places.

Even things like, I have one upgrade point or whatever it's called so it is CONSTANTLY putting up an on screen box and making a sound to tell me I have a point to spend... except there is nothing I can spend it on.

EDIT:- and my first falling through the floor, woooo...... after another boring mission, collect three somethings, for no reason, in different places, with three bad guys at each who are all painfully stupid, easy to kill and getting caught doesn't hurt you in any way at all. It's a game where I feel like I'm going through the motions, the characters are boring and lifeless, the dialogue dry and pointless, the missions far too easy and the AI god awful. I'm not sure how many games before this one the enemies would climb buildings to come and get you, now they don't at all and with almost no rooftop sentries it's all a massive backward step from the last game.

Black Flag was so much more vibrant and varied. In this every cathedral feels like the last one, every house is almost identical and running across rooftops is worse due to the stupid shapes. The only thing that is improved is SOME of the animation and some of the fluidity getting up and down the side of the buildings, everything else seems worse.

Has a patch came out for this today? The only issue I was having was with the render distance yesterday but now I can't even get the bloody game to launch without restarting! The FPS appears to have dropped massively as well.

Is there any other product that the manufacturer admits doesn't function properly, yet you have no way of gaining a refund?

Consumer rights pressure groups really need to take this on.

Finally started going through the actual storyline instead of running around like a muppet.
All went well until I got into the church to join (wont say too much for spoilers)

I was jumping from chandeliers and found myself almost teleporting from place to place, must have fallen down about 7-8 times, VERY annoying.

Correction....

After playing 3hrs last night messing and story i got to sequence 3, and exited, it did its synchronize thing, shut down went to bed.
It now appears my saves dont exist, even though i've used them 3-4times. Back to the start o.O

Well, having got my game actually running relatively smoothly (although still with more bugs than a VW convention) my issues sound rather trivial. But this game just stinks. Despite there being an overhaul to all 3 of the systems I'd argue that all 3 are worse for it. The cover system is abysmal as is the parkour which seems more random and rage-inducing than ever.
