Assassin's Creed Valhalla

What's everyone's favourite armour so far? I'm liking the Magister armour with Brigandine Cape. I just got some hidden ones gear and didn't think it looked that great tbh. I was expecting it to look awesome.

This game is the perfect balance of new and old Assassin's Creed imo.

For me Valkyrie I love, but that's brought and usually treat myself to one set I like on the store.

In game I like the way the mythic mentors armor looks, best looking set I have seen so far, prefer that to the Hidden one. Galloglach and Carolingian (has a romanesque feel to it) look neat as does Ravan Clan base one once upped to mythic.

The end game one which I wont say, of all the bits I have collected so far also looks neat from what I can tell, abit like the valkyrie one in some ways.

I've only been using the Raven Clan armour which is now fully upgraded

I had an issue with manual saves and fast travel. Going to my settlement and starting a feast fixed it on PC for me and now I'm working again.

Thankfully I managed to fix it , had to speak to an npc who had been wandering about at Ravenscroft to tell me he had left his wife. No more very long horse rides.

Right now if people want to buy this game they will be more disappointed with Valhalla combat system

The combat system on the PC is crap you need more then five fingers to operate all the keyboard keys at ounces and the dual welding both axes is broken in game the enemies have godmode against ANY melee attacks also the enemies can dashes out an unavoidable combination of counter attacks that take away 90% of your health
mad.png
and.... after performing the counter roll 70% of all times they just turn around and block your attack aimed at their back.

The new patch 1.04 have broken the game more then fixing it I have stop playing it because of the enemies is a Cheater in game, it will take the team a good year before they listen to all the PC players combat system needs to be fixed, right now AC Valhalla is a bad PC gaming experience in my life...compare to Odyssey & Origins.

1. The camera is too far away on the map so you can't zoom in that much to find the items.
2. you can't build any arrows in your inventory also you are limited in find them when in the combat area
3. it's hard to find the rations to heal yourself if you run out on the map and in the combat area
4. To mount a horse 'E'' to unmount 'C' why not just use one key and hold it down to unmount .'E' also in combat

The whole E/C key thing really bugs me. I remember at the beginning moving a sliding door thing and being stuck on it! Must have pressed every key but crouch?!? But Google told me crouch was the one.

Also M for map, quick look around, but not M again to close you have to press escape.

I'm not sure I agree with some of that.
I am playing with mouse and keyboard, and find the combat really easy. Yes there are unblockable attacks from enemies, but ALT is your friend to dodge. You can always hit an enemy, but have to time it rather than random button spamming.
The only problematic key is H for heals, but it's not unsurmountable. I started by dodging a lot, but over time getting used to the timing makes blocking easier. It's also a lot of fun once you unlock the ability to return anything fired or thrown at you back to sender. Much amusement throwing an arrow back to an archer.

The map is annoying it's true, but there are plenty of places in the wilderness where there are random arrows available to refill. The boss battles have arrows in abundance most of the time. Same for rations for heals.

The one I agree with is the horse. Playing chase when you first call it is annoying, but you can get over it quickly.

Overall, it's not that different from Odyssey, which I loved. Your bird pal is even more pointless than in that game of course, but that and the side-quest differences are the only major things I see.

you know you can re-bind your keys right?
what your saying about the enemies is just false.. it sounds more like the game is too hard for you

1. you can zoom in plenty enough to give the location of items, you also have "odin's sight" so you can find the items near you.. how could they make it any easier
2. you can upgrade your quiver to hold more arrows, you also have 3 different bows that each uses its own type of arrow.. so if you run out of arrows on one bow, switch to another
3. again you can upgrade this to hold more rations.. if your going into a fight with no rations then its your fault, prepare yourself first
4. you get used to it pretty quickly

if you keep hold of the "call" button (X is default i believe) then you will auto get onto your horse

Yeah I'd agree with this one, combat is actually pretty straight forward and I'm playing on the hardest combat difficulty on mouse and keyboard. As long as you manage stamina you can always dodge out of the way or fall back. Timing the parries is 100% key to victory against the bigger bosses and the legendaries, its also important on these to hit their highlighted weakspots with some arrows (which will often cause them to be stunned) and make good use of poison and fire attacks. Using heavy attacks rather than simply spamming light attacks is pretty effective at breaking the defences of most normal mobs (for example shield carriers or people using 2 handers to block or spears held cross their bodies for blocking). Thankfully horses are not overpowered in this, one pet peeve of mine in AC Origins was that the combat was incredibly easy if you just kept on a horse and swiping at the enemy as you rode past, then turn around and rinse repeat, it was like the enemy AI couldnt deal with the fact that you were on a horse. I actually find the combat better in Valhalla than in Origins and Odyssey, where it was far too easy to win fights by just spamming buttons.

I'm as puzzled as everyone else as to why arrow making was removed, as I've mentioned before seems an odd design decision that one.

it's not just the keys in the game but doing things like breaking a box takes me 4 or 5 missed swings, even when I'm pushing in direction of the box to break. Also, there is no Hold to Sprint Valhalla have change the combat system with annoying keys and the feeling of fighting a cheating enemy is so frustrating I just lost my entire motivation to go on until they fix the game with the right keys.

AC Origins was one the best games in the AC series and Ubisoft Montreal had Director Jean Guesdon, Ashraf Ismail and Producer Martin Schelling now the new Producer Julien Laferriere have turn it all upside down IMO

The enemies is not false plus I am not a fanboy I have played most of the AC series so I am not new to any game and best keyboard keys was Odyssey & Origins in the series
