It could be a bit more comprehensive, but I didn't want to blast the guy with a ridiculous amount of stuff.

Also, would anyone like to have a go with the Sonoma track on the reboot site? Any layout will do.
I've loved this since my Forza days (it was called Infineon) and always wanted it in AC, but I'm not sure if there's something up with the bumps around T2 & T4. I don't recall it being that tricky and would like a second opinion.
 
I really enjoyed the 643 and I could definitely get more time out of it.

The F50 is just awful, had the same gearbox problem when downshifting and it feels like it has the same brakes as the '94 Fiesta I used to own.

The Huracan is okay, I can probably eek out a bit more time.

The Maserati, I didn't really get on with, maybe I need more time.


I'm enjoying my cockpit, I can really lean on my load cell now which I couldn't when they were on the floor.
 
I love how one man's awful is another man's wonderful when it comes to driving tastes :D

Tbh, I'm a race car guy and the F50 isn't really my cuppa either, but you can learn a lot and even grow to appreciate these things if you're willing to persevere. At least that's what I tell myself...
 
That first bend is killing me, I know it's where I am losing all the time. Too slow slogging up the hill, then having no breaking point in to that short cut before the s's.

Granted I ain't as quick overall, but that first section is killing it.
 
lol maybe, maybe not! You're quick enough to match or beat me, regardless of tactics. History has proven that :)
The door swings both ways though. You were on a 1:03.8 this morning and now you're at 1:02.4 after I went quicker than your original time.
You then forced me to find something extra when you were like half a tenth behind whatever time I had at that point.

Either way, having good competition is definitely a great way to refine the craft, so cheers!
 
Yeh the telemetry on the website helped. I’d been adding wing, but it was clear looking at the traces I was losing lots of time on the straights...then you kindly told me your wing settings. Had to relearn some bits with lower downforce but it’s a fantastic combo, and I don’t usually get on with downfarce...
 
Put in a good handful of laps with the F50, was pretty happy with the time until I saw I was a whole second off of @Born2BSlow! Looks like I need to carry more speed in the slow corners at the far side of the circuit and take a cleaner line through that initial complex, seems I'm braking earlier than I need to and then taking the second right hander too quick maybe compromising my line for the next few? Will have another go in a bit :D

@Uncle Petey - the "fix" of running the 2D resolution at 1080p has nailed it. Can now use the UI comfortably and have the VR working well. Thanks for the tip.
 
I’m not running again, got up this morning and my back is agony after sitting in crappy chairs watching the kids swim last night...was looking forward to a day free to lap as much as I wanted, can barely move.
 
I guess that's lucky for me! Hope you're sorted for this week :)

Anyway, while I do have stuff in mind for today's refresh, I'm happy to take suggestions if anyone wants to chip in?

I'd quite happily stick on this combo for another week to give some other cars a go! If you want to move it on though, how about a Japanese themed one? For example Stock R34, the Time Trial Supra (mmmmmm all the power), a GT car and maybe the 787B? Not sure on a track though, I guess Suzuka would be an obvious choice!
 
I know you missed a lot of running last week, but I'm honestly looking to move on - As much as I love this track :)

Suzuka with a couple of Jap pack cars sounds great, as long as people don't mind grabbing that DLC if they don't have it.
Also, I was looking to try AC reboot's version of Suzuka, seeing as some people had slight grip issues with the Malagoli version we did last time.

If we want a completely new track for this event, I was thinking Sebring, Laguna or Okayama for example.
