Assetto Corsa OcUK TT Challenge! *Season 3*

Well, you're certainly getting into it. Good stuff :)

I really haven't been in the mood to do any laps this week, so I'll either have a go tomorrow or just leave it for this round.

Fair enough, Petey. I know what you mean, I think we all get weeks like that.

Yes, I'm definitely getting into it. It's probably the best circuit racing sim I've played, I'm glad I took your advice in the end and went for the Ultimate Edition. :)

Edit:
What time do you usually call and end to the week's challenge, Petey?

Cheers. I obviously have my favourites but I'll have a crack at anything and quite enjoy learning new circuits.

I set a lap in the mx-5 just to get on the board, not the same on a single 24” monitor...

Don’t really want to reinstall my whole OS just because AC doesn’t work. Everything else is fine. So frustrating.

We did it in the previous season (Round 4). Granted, that was quite a while ago...
Honestly, while Spa is great, it's been so rinsed out by all the GT3 online servers that I tend to avoid doing it these days. it also tends to favour the faster, more downforce oriented cars, so makes a varied car selection a little more limited.

While I do like to get some of the more popular tracks on here, I also like to do stuff that doesn't crop up too often, as it makes things more interesting and can introduces people to new content.

lol that was a bit of long winded way of saying yeah, but no :D

Gratz to @Paddyqwerty1 for the clean sweep last week. Sorry you didn't get the battle you might have wanted. I'll make it up to you this week :)

Also, I had a change of heart. Hope at least some of this is to your liking.

Round 21 - Spa Francorchamps

  • Ferrari F2007 >>DOWNLOAD<<
  • Porsche 911 GT1 '98
  • Lola T70 mkII >>DOWNLOAD<<
  • Alfa Romeo 155Ti V6
I went with the Lola again, as I wanted to give it a proper go. It's a slightly different version with a bit more power, but also a bit more weight.

Thanks, @Uncle Petey. You're perfectly entitled to say no next time. :D Always good to try new tracks. I had a quick glance through the previous rounds before I posted but obviously missed it...

Yeah, I only did a couple of laps with it as there was more competition with the other cars.

Ooo, new cars. Just as well, I left that 312T in a proper mess - empty coffee cups rolling about everywhere. It's like a rep mobile.

Edit: I'll try and put a decent time in this week, hopefully I'll have a bit more track time than last week (and I'll remember to save my setup before exciting the game). Good luck chaps! :)

It would be nice but honestly I don't mind if it's too similar to something you've already run.

This is turning out to be a really good way for me to get to grips with the game. It's a bit daunting at first but it's great fun trying to close in on your times. :)

Good stuff :) Don't feel that you have to practice offline or anything. Jump on the server and bang out some laps.

Thanks, I like to have a few offline runs just to get a feel for the game, car and track. Since I have only run the 312T on Laguna Seca so far (last week's challenge) it's still all very new to me.

Edit: one thing that caught me out last week was weather conditions/track temp. When I logged onto the server (which was running different weather to my offline laps) it felt like a different car, lol.

Aye, cheers Petey, that was a slight exaggeration. :p I'm probably a couple of dozen hot laps in so far (those SS tyres go off quickly don't they?).

Before I call it a night I thought I'd post my best lap so far, a 1:51.6. Still a lot to do in parts, notably Pouhon (I stuff it completely on this lap), and a missed apex here & there but I'll get there. This thing is really fun to drive! :)

Excuse any shading/aliasing oddness - I've been dipping in & out of the Sweetfx settings file quite a bit and it's still WIP.
