Assetto Corsa

Oh, nice one :) Yeah, it's the V1's.

I was gonna get one for £14.50 on the bay, but they don't seem to have any now. These ones seem like a bargain even if there's a little more hassle involved.

Thanks mate.

Some nice graphic updates today, only tested at Monza and Imola but you'll notice the extra little touches, looks stunning.

Can't see anything the change log. Do you know what was updated?

Also I seem to get more ffb from my t500rs. It's much easy to react and counter steer. I just tested on snoopys latest nord so his changes may be the cause and not the update from kunos.

They're worth a shot for the price. :)
Feedback seems good in the thread.

Yeah, I always check the change log after an update before playing so was surprised to see the new graphical changes. Drive round Monza and you'll notice extra bridges crossing the track with a few more spectator stands and trackside add boards, same goes for Imola, either that or I'm losing me marbles lol.

Edit:
Ok, I'm losing my marbles, just watched a Monza race from build 0.9 on you tube and the detail was there too, I really think I need to lay off the Jack Daniels lol, just shows how much notice I take of track detail but I swear something looks different.

Just the dashboard to do once the button box arrives.

Also made a rack for my sim gear:

The cap is for TrackIR.

I will also need to make a unit for the keyboard and mouse.

Tidied up my room whilst I was at it:

Thanks GIBURROWS. I deliberately didn't track the costs because I didn't want to scrimp on the materials at all. Without the pedals, shifter, wheel and seat, I reckon the estimate would be around £500 - £600 for the materials:

MDF
Wood Strips
Backing board
Hardwood
Screws
Bolts
Seat runners
Rubber sheet
Carpet
Blackboard vinyl
Acrylic
Artwork
Cabling (power strip / USB + hub / DVI / Displayport / speaker)
Velcro
Aluminium plate, strips, edging
Mesh
Leather material
T molding
Paint
Varnish
Desk grommet
Accessories (tow hook / extinguisher / badge)
Glues (wood / epoxy / contact)
Shelf supports
LEDs
Wire
Switches
Connectors

... and probably a few other bits and pieces. That would make it around £150 a month for the 4 months it took. Not too bad as I had a great time building it as well.

At around 300 hours+ to complete it, I don't think I've got the energy to build another one!

My projects tend to be one-offs so I'll be looking for something different next time. I have a pinball controller to complete and also a flight sim deck for the desk to design and build.

Thanks picnic. I'll be sure to post pictures of progress of the deck once I start it. I'm still figuring out a design which is plug and play, doesn't take up too much room and provides some sensible ergonomics. A bit of a challenge, but I'm always up for that :)

This game, although is absolutely brilliant, just really pee's me off. It will run fine for a lap or two, and then all of a sudden, it just starts chugging. iRacing run nice and smooth, and I know this is still WIP and the GFX are better, but its just really annoying that its fine and then slows up to a crawl. :(

Odd, to have a better work laptop. No gaming rig anymore, and probably never again whilst the littleun is little.

£20.99 now on Steam, should i take the plunge now or wait until the last day, 30th????

As you say, its going to be there for a while, theres a chance it'd appear in a flash/daily sale so unless you really want it now, its not going to get more expensive in the next 10 days, might get a bit cheaper though.
Its definitely been £20 though (33%) rather than £21 (30%) but as its not finished they might not go much lower than that.

There are also people who'll gift it you for less. I definitely got it for about £16. Its £12 for RU so they can gift it and both make a few quid from the process.
