Assetto Corsa

I'm not sure what you set yours too but I have mine maxed out...HDR off as it blurs the image. Its much sharper with HDR off.
I use a weather mod to get rid of the very blue sunny skys and it makes the whole image to me look much more natural. I have supersampling set in the AMD control panel but leave it set at application controlled then set it to either 4x or 8x in game.
That's pretty much about it.

this is what ive done, but it doesnt look as good!

So did some hunting around ebay for a couple of weeks for a g27. There was a guy flogging g27s marked as used/not testing/incomplete. They were consistently selling for about £50~£80, so I kept an eye on the feedback. Sure enough, the feedback for the ones that had left feedback was good... so I took a punt.

So for a good price of £63, I purchased a G27. It turned up the other day. Everything was there, wheel, pedals, shifter and psu. I plugged it all in, and viola, its works great. the only problem that I have seen, is it is a bit tatty and one of the clamps on the wheel has sheared off. Other than that, it works fine.

I now just wish I had the time to actually use it any play the damn game... Hah! The joys of being a new dad.

Tried HDR ony my rig. It's horrific, the game is so blown out the track is white. I have no contrast between track and kerb :/
If I turn down the actual gamma contrast by the HDR setting it just makes the game like it's in greyscale :(

I did say it looks better with it off ;).
Its pretty broke as sometimes it looks okay then it randomly just gets too strong and everything is too bright. Plus for some reason it blurs the image too.
The lighting on AC is quite poor especially when I look at project cars but im sure they have said that there going to rework it for release.

So the latest update has removed the server launcher... there is however a dedicated server option in the Steam tools, but it just launches the default config. There doesn't seem to be any way yet of setting up a server using the old method....

A big step backwards IMO.

obviously not up to the standards of many of the set ups in this thread, but nipped to my local boot sale today and got this for £4 (inc the PS2 game)

Plugged it in the PC and W7 auto detected and installed drivers, works a treat in AC :D. such a HUGE difference over a X360 pad, drift control is amazing now. totally night and day change

That's awesome. I'd love to pick something like that up, as I'm not quite ready to invest hundreds on a wheel.

This game is an amazing racing sim. I almost sold my Fanatec GTR v3 and CSR elite pedals until I tried AC.

Rfactor2 is progressing so slowly that the graphics look very dated.
PCARS is just meh as far as I'm concered. A screenshot sim lite, which is fine if you like that kind of thing.

AC combines great physics and great graphics in one package.

Move your seat forward or adjust your FoV so that you see less of the cockpit. There was a big discussion about HDR on the WMD/PCARS forum. To quote from one of the SMS staff.
BTW yet another factor here is how you set up your cockpit view - as you can see I like a narrow FOV, with the "seat" well forward (as my screen is very close to my physical steering wheel). I also like a high seat position, because I'm, er, tall. This means I have less of the cockpit on screen, which in turn will affect the exposure (in this example it will mean the environment is somewhat less bright as the exposure will adjust less because there is a smaller area of dark cockpit).

Setting the correct FoV is itself a whole other discussion but this will certainly help. I don't have any such issues with HDR on, I use three 27"screens with each rendered too separately giving a 150degree FoV.

Snoopy's nord is now incredible. I wish he would have made a less know commercial track as it will be dlc anyway. But if modders can make tracks with such finese and detail the future is bright for AC.

Please bring variable weather and night time. I'd adore Bahrain and Singapore at night with those flood lights.
