Move your seat forward or adjust your FoV so that you see less of the cockpit. There was a big discussion about HDR on the WMD/PCARS forum. To quote from one of the SMS staff.

Interesting. May try that but imagine the change in view will annoy me more than the lack of HDR. I don't really miss it to be honest, just wanted it to look a bit more flashy over the weekend!

Tried the latest version of Snoopy's Nords and the AC exe would stop working while loading the track. Didn't try anything to get it working, so will have to sort it out. The 0.7 version was very good from what I played.

Starting to loose interest in this game to be honest. I wanted it as the GT, Forza of the PC that one can kick back on the sofa and have some fun with his mates on the pad. While getting a really good experience.

But of late the game runs like crap for me and I have enough power to run it easily. It seems like it playing at 20 fps but I'm seeing 60-90fps cant put my finger on it but it doesn't feel right anymore. Drivers maybe ?

Then the pad at first it was playable. I was beating my mate on his T500rs in the BMW M3. Tried to have a go the other night my god it was all messed up the car either didn't turn enough for a bend or I'd turn it up a bit then it became way way to sensitive. I just couldn't find a middle ground.

Then onto the multiplayer. Not really great at the moment is it ? Impossible to get onto a server with friends. When you do get on its a lag fest that looks like cars are floating around the track.
I've gone from loving it to hating it. Hopefully its just me and I can get it running good again as I really want to enjoy the game. But everytime I fire it up I just think this is a waste of time and end up loading Iracing.

Im in the same boat, I've got a decent steering wheel and pedals setup but it takes up too much room, in the past I've been having quite a lot of fun using my Xbox360 pad, but lately its been feeling harder and harder to control using the pad, more and more twitchy and unpredictable... I presume they are making it more realistic tbh which is making a wheel the only option, but at the moment its just not quite enough to warranty the space my wheel takes up.

Also I'm with you graphically, I'm not running the best pc setup an old Mac Pro with dual-quad Xeon 2.8ghz cpus and a GTX770 3gb graphics card, but at 1920x1200 it might say I'm getting 50-70fps, but it looks and feels a good chunk lower.

After trying snoopy's 0.9 version of the Nordschleife you really cant imagine the official version being a large amount better. Its already a thrill to drive on that course and with the better quality trees and grass added id be perfectly happy with his version.

Thanks again for the feedback on the pod.

@spankingtexan, the current rift makes me feel motion sick - newer versions may be better but tbh, I'd much rather be able to see all the peripherals in the cockpit!

A few updates:

Lined the dash with leather:

Ordered a DSD button box:

I'll disassemble it and fit it to the dashboard panels:

I bought some real carbon fibre to cover the panels.

Currently working on the monitor hood:

And I built this today - amplifier is for Simvibe (WIP):

The fan is essential tbh.

Any chance of a flat pack kit of this? I think you'd make a bomb.

I have a weird issue.. I don't know if its just this game as its the only racing game I play..but iv noticed after a few laps on my G27 it suddenly feels like the gain has gone right down and the wheel feels lighter..
I have my gain set to 60% in game and that gives the wheel a nice heavy feel when turning but not too heavy but after a few laps it suddenly feels lighter like the gain has been knocked right down and halfed or something. I still get the bumps and things ect but it loses that heavy feel when turning. Not sure whats causing it.

A solution for people wanting to host pick-up race/open servers like these is on the drawing board, but please understand that at this early stage of the public release we have to deal with the issues that show up first.

And to elaborate: the current scheme helps us test things and detect problems in an easier manner. Which is also one of the reasons we have put up and monitor a set of official servers. All your opinions and feedback are taken into consideration and we are not turning a blind eye to the "traditional" multiplayer functionality. We are also well aware of all the drawbacks of this system and the limitations of our framework; but as I mentioned before at this current stage it is much easier for us to detect and find problems using a uniform way of connecting and hosting multiplayer sessions that has specific steps to it. Once certain things are ironed out then we can focus on making things more flexible.

Had a bit of abreak from the game due to uni exams and played a bit of rfactor2 (newly released built) and AC. I'm in love with AC all over again:) Love how it drives with the g27, no empty feel in the middle of steering range, it just feels great!

Some nice graphic updates today, only tested at Monza and Imola but you'll notice the extra little touches, looks stunning.
