noticed they've changed the layout of the graphics options, mainly the HDR effects. now have it on with a few things switched off to rid it of that damn blur! :p

Correct me if I'm wrong but is HDR the post processing presets?
If it is I just leave it on "None", although some people have been getting creative creating sepia style presets. Which reminds me I still need to try SweetFX on this game.

I have onboard sound, wireless USB headphones (G930) and an Asus Xonar.

For powering the transducers, I use Simvibe software which uses a separate sound output to the default one used for audio; I use the onboard sound for that which means I can run either my headphones or audio through the Xonar (I always use headphones though).

If you haven't used it, Simvibe is excellent software and allows you to feel a lot of effects - not just interpreted low frequency. Unfortunately, given the recent changes in AC, only a couple of effects are working right now - this should be fixed soon though.

cool, since AC just got handbrake support I just realized, where is your handbrake?

WOW, absolutely awesome, I'd love a setup like that. Great work mate

Thanks DJ!

@manju, There is a place I could mount one on the front of the shifter pod. I really wanted to get one of the Fanatec handbrakes before I started building but is was a case of waiting for an unknown release date unfortunately. A handbrake is something for Phase 2 on the project ;)

Very cool screen shots Matson!

Working on Assetto Corsa Alfa Romeo 4C @ Spa-Francorchamps circuit testing of some new graphics assets (new tarmac, curb and carbody shaders). Just to avoid any misunderstanding, let me mention some info about dev status: car at 40% (70% of exteriors, interiors 10%, physics and sounds as placeholders), circuit at 80% (anyway this one is scheduled for release 1.0 Within the , not in the Early Access program.) Have a nice day

Nice Alfa ;) Hope they add the 8c too!

Just spent some driving the Lotus 98T. What an absolutely animal that thing is! 100% boost is just insane. All the tracks just feel absolutely tiny except maybe Silverstone!

The new shaders look pretty nice judging by that screenshot.
The one thing AC lacked for me was great graphics apart from the car models which have always been excellent but its nice to see them improving.

I'll be honest here, if there's any game which didn't need wonderful graphics, it's a sim-racing game. OK perhaps a space-sim game. The sim itself comes way, way before any graphics.

I still think Grand Prix Legends is the best overall sim-racer today. It has flaws (notably netcode), but the balance of awesome machines, a relatively undemanding PC and probably the best FFB in a game yet (including AC, but possibly excluding NASCAR Racing 2003) is immersive like no other game (sim or not) that I've ever played. But the trackside graphics were appalling... but I didn't care, as I just used them as visual clues.

I want a sim to have real character, a great feel, a great tradition. Assetto Corsa might be that game in the future, but I'd rather they concentrated on the physics first, then beautified the graphics. Nothing has quite grabbed me like GPL yet (aside from the GTP mod for NR2003, though it might be more the team ethic in the endurance racing than the mod itself... proper Le Mans 24hr races... **** yes).

Agreed on the physics > graphics sentiment. I want physics and game play nailed in this game before worrying about prettiness. It's already good looking enough to not put me off nor looking overly dated. They're on the right track so far, some brilliant cars to drive all with their own character. Can't wait for some 4wd cars!

What's wrong with the physics of the track, handling and ffb? I'm not an expert with sim racers but to me the cars have a great, unique handling characteristic.

Graphics and sound should take less priority but it doesn't mean it should be overlooked. KS goal and vision so far from what I've seen will make this my number 1 racing game.
