Assetto Corsa

Would this be a good buy for this game guys? seems pricey but reviews are good.

Any here using it and able to comment?

The T500S is meant to be awesome. Not using one myself so can't talk specifically but it seems to be the one most people are recomending as the best wheel available for this game right now. The Force Feedback is quick enough for accurate drifting, something which my G25 really isn't!

Having some weird performance issues.

As I said earlier in the thread, with a GTX 690 I was getting low GPU usuage.

If I max everything, including high res mirrors, 16xAF etc I can get 90-99% GPU usuage on box cores. That'll give me 60-65 FPS with triple screens.

As soon as I add AI and try a race, GPU usage drops to around 30% on each core.

Any suggestions?

may be stabbing in the dark but what have you got the faces set to? think 0-6 (or 1-6?) were the options. think I remember seeing somewhere this is impacted by/related to the number of cars on track so try reducing it to 1 possibly?

edit, and 128 for the 680 SC :( poop... gunna have to sell mine soon.... hurry up GTX8xx series!!! ;)

Yes got faces set to 6. I'll try changing it and see how it goes, thanks.

Well I bought the 680 in the MM for £130, so couldn't ask for more than that without breaking the rules. I had it up for a week at £130 without a bite. With the 7 day free bump rule gone, had no choice but to drop the price to get it noticed.

Even eBay prices have dropped in the last few weeks.

Last question i promise :), what, if any mods should i be downloading?

Cheers

Dave

AC Cobra is phenomenal fun with a wheel, the gold standard of all mods as of now. Its huge vintage tyres physics were coded by Kunos themselves apparently, so it is half mod half official :)

Must have, even at its 0.5 beta stage! http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/shelby-cobra-released-v0-5.955/

Another thing, i've maxed the game out, no issues running it but things look a little blurry, anyone able to point of what settings to use for the game it look it's best?

Disable FXAA!

I am using this: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...assetto-corsa-win-7-8-0-8-1-compatible.11822/

sweet fx + SGSSAA, but not sure if AMD has SG. Try the same Sweet fx tweak but with SSAA. ALso there are post effects presets (5 of them) in the options which show when you drag mouse across the right side of the screen (ingame), try them and see which you like best.

New shaders were announced to be in the works, fingers crossed AA will become achievable without SS, but for now its a must - if you want crispness.

You can always check out the screenshot thread to see how your settigns compare: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/screenshots.587/page-185

Thanks for that,

I've disable Fxaa, using SSAA now which is much better, will give the Sweet FX a go later after work.

Here's some screenshots as my game looks now, will post more when i have S FX.

They've also sneaked in announcement of adding Toyota GT86 as part of Nurb-RSR deal. (RSR are the official driving academy at both Nurburgring and Spa.)

RSR Nurburg and Assetto Corsa share an exclusive garage: BMW M3 E30 and E92, Lotus Exige S, Elise, 2 Eleven, McLaren MP4-12C, together with Nissan GT-R, Toyota GT-86 and many other cars that will be included in Assetto Corsa’s garage....

Assetto Corsa’s development team will be able to use RSR Nurburg’s cars for dynamic tests and surveys

Can any Driving Force GT owners let me know how many mounting screw holes are in the base of the wheel please?

Been searching for a manual to find this out, but there isn't one available online.

From memory I don't think the DFGT has any hard points to mount to, just the 2 screw clampy things and the pedals have this flip out carpet gripper thing.

Is it worth getting a G25 anymore? I might be getting a warranty replacement DFGT for a broken DFP (spikey pedals) but may well sell it on as brand new and get a used G25. Is it worth paying a bit more for a G27?
