Assetto Corsa

Is there anybody that also play pCARS here?

The only thing stopping me buying this is the that I already have pCARS, also I only have a 360 pad and will not be investing in a wheel, so how does this game compare with pCARS when using a pad?

Cheers

DFGT warranty replacement shipped, going to be sold then G27 here we come :D

Does anyone have experiences with the G27 having the spiking pedal potentiometer problem? Does that occur on the G27 as well as the DFGT/DFP?

If you buy new, then its not a problem as logi have 3 years warranty on G27. HAving said that my DFP has got through 7 years of service with only very mild spiking being evident towards the end of its life. Had G27 for about 6 months and zero problems, everything is solid with no spiking or noise.

Donnington mod (made from scratch for AC, not some poor rFactor conversion) is out:
http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/donington-park-still-wip.12556/

install by unzipping its folder into AC/content/tracks, delete by removing the folder from there.

I also have pCARS and use a pad, but haven't had time to get a game in yet. But why not have both?

Modded cars...especially the cobra and the formula 1 and gp2 cars. The formula 1 Ferrari is my favourite car of the lot at the moment...Go crazy on the modded tracks.. I just add all the ones that are rated high and see which I like...Natural color curves and weather mod.
Makes it look more natural which I prefere.

Helmet mod..amazing when driving the formula cars.

This is the F1 Ferrari mod + helmet mod. Some may not like it but I love it. Its great how it shakes with the bumps aswell like it would in real life.

That's the problem with modded racing games so many legal issues and problems.
Its a case of download it while you can before it gets taken down. Same with some tracks.

Like some in the AC forums have said though cant you just change the names of the models and still create the cars anyway?
Using there brand name is the only issue isn't it so just call it formula Frankie for all anyone cares lol

Also this maybe of interest.

I have not seen the cease and desist letter, but this may be of interest to you, from Bram Hengeveld at racedepartment:

"We have had the same letter at www.racedepartment.com a year ago and keep getting them from time to time. The sender is not the FIA but a company that acts on behalf of the FOM.

All they do is roam the internet for so called breach of their rights but if you read the letter closely its not a cease and desist letter, but good old internet bullying, but apparently for some teams and websites this is already enough to get (and spread) panic."

I wouldnt mind it too much if there was a choice of buying an official licensed F1 sim, but when the only option is Codies effort with Grid like physics... meh

F1 mods continue to florish in rFactor to this day (despite all the bullying from FIA), I dont see this changing with AC mods either. Nobody profits, its a private mod, they might as well sue kids who draw pictures of Lewis Hamilton.
