Assetto Corsa

Cheers, I'll check it out :)

Just had another adventure at Nurb GP with people driving backwards around the track during qually and crashing people off intentionally during the race...
I expect this in a public lobby on console, but not here. It's unbelievable.

Not really.

I used to happen in GTR 1&2 as well as Race 07.

Well damn me for having unrealistic expectations... :D

Saying that, the above experience was a one-off for me so far. Generally speaking, it's just poor driving standards and a lack of awareness/experience. You get rear ended by those that have qualified behind you, after all ;) Often, it's not even the guy behind. It's the guy behind the guy behind who buggers it up for everyone.

The amount of people that do make an effort usually outweigh the idiots and it's nice to see that the majority do give way during qualifying at least.

Qualifying it a *****lier (LOL, pr1cklier) subject online than in reality, as the drivers you come across are likely on a lap too, which is just as important to them as yours is to you. Just because you're catching someone doesn't mean they should jump out of your way - that's not the way it works.

Of course if your sector times show you're not going to improve or you're on an out or in lap, then the etiquette is to give up the racing line and back off.

Outside of private leagues you're always going to come across idiots though. iRacing is the best bet for avoiding them, but even it has plenty of dregs at the bottom.

I can usually tell if they're on an outlap or a hotlap.
If I've managed to catch up to someone during qually, it's because they're either very slow, or they've gone off the track and screwed up their lap.
I always make sure I leave the pit with clear space to avoid it, but that doesn't work if either of the above occur.
Please don't assume that I need to be educated on how it works :)

Almost every time I've been blocked, it's been because they've gone off at some point and don't have any awareness of either etiquette or their own mirror.

Late ED: There's also the ones that exit the pit and immediately take the racing line without checking for other cars on the map/mirror. I'd put that down to inexperience more than anything though. Had a guy do that the other day and his driving was all over the place anyway.

Generally speaking, most people do seem to respect the 'blue flag' thing. It's more the first corner pile ups that are the issue and AC multiplayer is certainly better than FM4 public lobbies in general.

Could be today.

When we finally get our hands on the final version of the game?

The version that we presented today is very different than what is currently on Steam, even in the graphics engine that has improved considerably and the sound, much more immersive, but the final version will arrive on October 15

Damn my crappy internet and all the other people downloading this! :D
Mine's only at 25% and it's only downloading something that's 5.7Gb. It reckons there's an hour to go and it's not even the main game afaik.

Had a quick play earlier, the ferrari is an absolute beast. Spa is done very well and feels really nice, I only had chance to use a controller some I'm excited to try it on the wheel later.

The game looks properly good now, the god rays are a little strong but it looks awesome in motion, really gorgeous to look at.

Very impressed so far.
