Assetto Corsa

Anyone got some decent 360/One controller settings for this? I had a quick blast last night but found most cars unweildly, was hoping for a Forza like compromise for controller.

Supersampling via CCC seems to work.
No need to use acs.exe.

Just change system settings to override and set supersampling to 4x (haven't tried any higher yet). Can't say I notice much difference, but I lose about 20-30fps, so it appears to be doing something :D

All I can say is 9:30am time + spa + Ferrari GT2 = amazing! It feels a joy to play on a wheel and I couldn't get enough last night.

The only downside though is when I put the time to 8:30am...the godrays where so strong I couldn't actually see anything at one point and was driving blind for a section of the track lol.

You could always go to photo mode and change the sun position :)

Check out the weird xfire usage...

This is @ultra everything except normal mirror resolution and with 8x Supersampling. It's also with trifire, but the same thing applies to xfire.
Xfire mode is set to optimize 1x1.

On track (usage would be around 22% without supersampling btw)

Now when I press exit, it goes to where it should be:

Assbackwards, yo :p

I'm really looking forward to giving this a proper go over the weekend. A well made Spa is always fun to drive, so obviously this is going to be fantastic. It's a shame the current chicane is there rather than the old bus-stop (which was always a great balancing act), but obviously they have a license to stick to. Hoping, though not expecting, someone makes the old 9 mile Spa track at some point. Much fun has been had there in GPL.

You've got some idea what the F1 drivers will have to put up with at Sochi in 2015 then. :p

We used to run 1000km night races at Spa in the NR2003 GTP mod. That was proper sim-racing hardcore. :D

I'm very impressed with the release version so far, 1x 780Ti and I've got everything maxed at 5760x1080.

Spa is well made but it's very different from the laser scanned version in iRacing.

If you mean Spa '92, then someone has made it :)

Spa 92 wasn't 9 mile!

No, the pre-1983 one, where the current track leaves at Le Combes (head up the run off road, where Hamilton ended up after crashing in 2011) then it rejoins at the current Stavelot. While the current Spa is fast, this was something else and horrifyingly dangerous in reality. Great in sims though!

Not the most accurate map (it's got the pre-2007 chicane for starters, and the old Les Combes is completely wrong), but it gives a glimpse into the scale of the old track.

Cool, I meant the one with the chicane on the back straight section that I believe you referred to before you mentioned the 9 mile version.
I can obviously tell that the '92 track isn't 9 miles long.: )

Apparently the AC version is laser scanned, though I believe that iRacing scanning technology is more accurate.

Maybe but.... do you think it should be as bad as this lol...

Just tried a quick race at Spa with a random grid of 24 GT3 cars and GPU usage plummets to 25-35% and it's unplayable.

Same at other tracks.

Yet hot lapping on my own under the same settings maxes out both cards and get 60+ FPS all the time.

Don't know how true it is, but I've read that AI cars use the exact physics model of the human controlled car, which is why a system can be crippled running decent fields (despite the physics rate being a fraction over half that of pCARS).

If that was the case I'd expect the game to max out my CPU but it doesn't. CPU usage doesn't go above 70% on any core, that's an i5 4960K.

Are the same sounds being used for the different car views now? I can't hear any difference between exterior view and in car apart from transmission noise being more pronounced. Before in car used to have more umph.

I also have an unusual gpu usage issue. Seems when I first load up the game, on the first race my gpu 2 usage always exceeds gp1 usage and I experience fps drops then after a while it settles back to 120fps and stays there. On the second race, the gpu1 usage is always more than gpu 2 and the game never drops below 120 fps. This is with everything maxed to the hilt using 2 x 780's. Interestingly the usage on both cards never exceeds 65% on either card.

Yes I'm experiencing that. I really hope this is something they will change back to how it was in the previous versions.

Hadn't played this for a few weeks but got on it last night to check out the update. Jesus the career mode is challenging! I thought the first few races I could smash through, but struggled to get 3rd in the first fiat race.
