Assetto Corsa

I've just done loads of testing of the graphics options after getting low GPU usage and low frame rates in races only, with 2 GTX 970's in SLI.

I turned every setting off and then tested the game in a race with 24 cars.

I could max every setting and I was getting 99% GPU usage across both cards until I came to change Reflection Rendering Frequency.

Set to static and I can max every other setting in game and get 99% GPU usage across both cards and get between 90-120 FPS at 5760x1080.

As soon as I move the Reflection Rendering Frequency slider from static to very low, or any other setting, I get around 30% GPU usage across each card and about 30-40 FPS.

Leaving it on static and the game runs perfect.

I also found that having High Quality Mirror Reflections ticked can cause very slight pauses in the game instead of being smooth.

I don't suppose you'd be so kind as to post this in the official AC forums. Specifically: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...-60-drop-in-fps-is-this-to-be-expected.16242/

Would be good to have more people back this up.

When it works, it's brilliant but they've got to sort out the servers. I can't be the only one trying to join and getting told that it's already full.

Will do

No your not.

Devs are aware and have fixed it in the 1.04 update, but it isn't live yet so we just have to put up with it until it is.

Thank you for the tip. I was considering Thrustmaster RS 500 but for the half of the price of it, logitech is really a bargain. Need to read some reviews of the two to decide.

It is less then half price- t500 lacks an H-shifter which is another £100. £150 for a brand new g27 with 3 years warranty is simply unbeatable unless money is no object of course. g27 is plenty good enough for racing and drifting- quick FF, very decent shifter and very good pedals.

G27 is brilliant. Got it 2nd hand off Gumtree earlier in the year, still boxed hardly used for £150.

There's a post in the iRacing thread about the guy who won the online NASCAR World Championship using an unmodded G27 - it's plenty good enough for the cash.
