Assetto Corsa

Just gave that a go to see if I could beat it lol.

Managed to get 6:58:021.

Really loving how amazing it feels to be blasting around the Nords especially in that 458 GT2. one of my favourite cars.

Oh it's on! That's made me even more determined :p

I have to agree, great car and the track feels so alive. Turn up the sound as well!

Couldn't agree more it feels spot on. Don't think I should have it any louder on my headset :o

Street GTR is not too far away now

From Kunos' facebook

I have quite a bit of real world exp' with an international race license and a number of cars to my name, at peak I had 12 cars in my garage. :)

Would be interesting if you shared some more impressions once you've dialled in your sim rig :)

Lastly, best Nurb experience is with tarmac surface set to "Old" - according to Kunos:

Aris:
AC by default simulates a nirvana optimum grip. This is good as theoretically this grip can be achieved... but probably never will be. Also it is good for mass market and helps the new comers to have a less hard impact with simracing world. That's also why we put the semislicks tires as default choice. Good for new comers means more sales and more sales means more licenses which is a good thing for everybody.

Hardcore simracers should know better and use the proper tyres, the proper circuit grip, the proper ambient temp and so on. It's not that hard to do and should give them more satisfaction. But as usual, we always get complains from "hardcore simmers" for too much grip or whatever... it is a bit strange how one can called himself hardcore but spent no time to investigate and find the proper setting. Anyway, sorry for the rant, I do understand that everybody sees things in a different perspective and everybody has a valid point.

In the particular case of the nurburgring, here are some things to remember. It's cold and humid. Even at the summer. When I crashed my M3 some years ago (where you can see the ARIS KURVE as my friends actually draw that graffiti on the track for real LOL), it was mid august... I was time attacking and rain started heavily with "rivers" crossing the road. I aquaplaned at 170kmh... **** happens.
So yeah for the ring I would put the track to slow maybe and certainly keep the ambient temperature always under 15°C

Have fun :D

lol if you beat it let me know....it will be cool to try and see if we can keep beating each others times with that car and track combo :D

Also just been on the nords in the 2015 formula one modded car that is amazing. Its so quick its a challenge just to stay on the road for the whole lap lol.

Managed to get a time of 5:41.831 with it.

Just got my Driving Force GT wheel today and tried Assetto Corsa for the first time - what a great game! Lots of fun, although I'm going to need to practice a bit to get good :)

Also, is there a setting in-game to turn down brightness? It seems far too bright at the moment.

Snap i got mine earlier this week the game is so much better with it:D

Its just a shame im not that good at the moment :o just need lots of practice and im finding some of those special events pretty tough even on easy:p

I think you can toggle brightness with page up / page down keys ingame:)

I've got an R34 car mod, but the BOV sound only activates at 3000rpm, Any idea how to change it in the settings to make it work when I change gears/at a set rpm..?

I am obsessed with the BOV, and turbo flutter.

Anyone else running crossfire + triple screens and can get post processing working without acs.exe crashing?

Currently running Cat 15.3 betas, but might roll back to 14.12's before I return my 2nd 290 due to frustration.

Just tried Donington Park track (the fresh built one) and the Camaro GT3 - what a stonking combo! You can literally thunder down the craner curves  It's quite a noisy beast!

Edit:
Tried to take a pic, but failed miserably, and then imageshack wanted to "upgrade" so gave up for the night.

Try Imgur ^

I sort of "fixed" the blow off valve timing on the R34, but it's far from perfect :'( It's all I want, but so hard to find a good sound..

I haven't been on this in a while and I notice that The Nurburgring is now DLC? Has it always been DLC or am I just going crazy. If it used to be available to the early access people but has now been removed from my game, and I need to pay more to get to it, I will be annoyed :(

That is the laser scanner version of the Nurburgring, and was only made available as DLC a few weeks ago along with some new cars.

Snoopy's version of the Nurburgring is still a free download if that's the earlier version you're thinking about.

Nurburgring GP (4km track) is part of the original game, Nurburgring Nordschliefe (20km track) is DLC. Nordschleife is worth every penny though.

Is there a pitboard mod/addon for this, I like to drive without an overlay displaying speed laps etc, but would like a display board after each lap. I have looked but can't seem to find one. Thanks

that looks sweet! shame I'm to my open wheel racing, currently I'm driving the Formula Corsa Williams F1 2009 mod but I'm really looking forward the F1 sr 2006 version :)
