Assetto Corsa

Did not think the xbox one elite controller was out yet, how much are the yin the UK ?

They are £120 - But it took me a while to find somewhere that had one in stock, they sold out almost instantly but I managed to find a competitor 20 miles away that had one in.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Oops! The "#KeepFightingMichael" on the barrier, it was added somewhere between 1.31 and 1.34, and I hadn't played since 1.3, so I may be a bit late

And plugging in all the wires, I have to really know I want to play and not just stop after 5 minutes. Quite sad really as the wheel is hardly getting used

I do not disconnect the wires, just put it under the table all connected up. Then, when I feel like having a quick drive, I just mount it on the desk, plug in the power cable and that it, no hassle what so ever.

Seriously considering a sim rig though for driving and flying sims, probably Obutto revolution.

Yeah, that would get old after a while.
Could a wheelstand pro work with your room/setup?
It might work, I've got limited space behind my desk so with the wheel sitting further back than it would be when on the desk it might be an issue. Plus I'd be further from my screen - I only have a mere 24" :D

I always find the price of those things over the top considering what they are. I think I've managed this long without one that I can hold fire until I've got my own place.

I got a server set-up , and ban the wreckers and idiots, to keep racing fun & clean, was getting fed up with all them GT3 servers as it feels like your racing on rails,
so I thought I'd try something different, and a bit more challenging but fun at the same time, ATM I'm running the Old school Touring cars, the servers called.

Keep It Real (35Hz Server) Merc vs Alfa vs Bmw Old School

Free bonus car incoming

I have a little problem that has reared its head since the last update. When I go to join servers online it says they ALL require a password and won't let me join. I know this isn't the case. Also when I go to play in practice mode I select the car, track, hit start and it just returns me to the selection screen after trying to load.

Anyone else come across this?

I have DP1 and DP2.

No worry anymore. My 2nd google search informed me that the resolution sometimes resets and screws things up. Back up and running :-D

Nordschleife lap lime: 6m21s Zonda R. I just need to be smoother.

The game very often hangs and freezes my computer after returning to the home screen? I have to restart the PC! Any ideas?

Hey Gixer, regards selection of car, tarck, start of load, then reset to selction screen, Ive had this a lot. To get into a race Ive often had to restart PC. Any fix? Cheers.

Nordschleife lovers, we're having a GT3 open endurance event this Sunday at the full enduro circuit.
Feel free to join in :)

Details here.
16 laps will be grueling and definitely not for everyone, but it should be a lot of fun.
You don't necessarily have to sign up to the site to enter this race btw, just turn up on the night and see how you get on.

Sunday 15/11/2015
Qualifying: 6pm
Race: 7pm
Practice/Race server: StopDropGaming.com - Nordschleife Endurance

We already have a GT3 series on the go - which you're also welcome to sign up and join (All skill levels welcome)- and will be starting a Darche series a week on Sunday. The last Darche series was quality, despite my own terrible luck in it, and I'd highly recommend getting in on this one if that's what floats your boat :)

My issue was that in the graphics option it had set the screen resolution for the game to 640x*** or similar. I set it back to 1920x1080 @60Hz and now it is working perfectly.

Honda uk using assetto corsa for type r competition

I was in Birmingham over the weekend and noticed a Honda stand with a few Xbox's and Type R's outside. When I got closer I also heard the sounds from what sounded like Assetto Corsa. When I investigated further what was going on was you had to do a quick-ish lap on Forza 5 at Nurburgring GP, then you had to do the same thing on their full simulator with motion rig. The full sim was running AC.

I didn't do very well, the top guys were doing 2:10.5's, obviously word had gotten round that this was going on and there were some really quick guys taking part, some guys had queued up 8 times according to one bloke I spoke to, it took me 40 minutes just to queue up once! Anyway, you get 2 laps and then that's it. The fastest lap apparently gets the Type R for 12 months.

My first lap was a 2:21, then my second lap was a 2:16. I didn't bother queuing up again as I didn't have time and I don't think id improve by 6 seconds anyway.

I'm not sure what all the references are to the full 'Ring, the track on both occasions was Nurburgring GP. Perhaps a later stage is at the full Nordschliefe...?

I'm gutted I 've missed the Manchester one :(

But purely for the experience, I'm certainly no alien. As for having 8 goes, I'm sure that even 800 goes later, I'd still be slower :p

Good quality Interlagos mod, should make watching tomorrows F1 race more interesting.

Also I've never realised how much fun that track is. Was Laguna Seca's cork screw copied from Interlagos, the latter's first corner is nigh on identical?

http://assettocorsa.club/mods/tracks/interlagos.html#en

I remember seeing a program years ago which said that the corkscrew at Laguna Seca wasn't going to be in but the designer messed up and was rushed to join the track and that was the quickest way.

Corkscrew is quite a bit narrower, tighter and steeper. It's like taking Interlagos' turns 1 and 2, and then compressing them dramatically.

You also drive it a bit differently. With the Corkscrew, you take the first part of the turn by driving all the way to right hand side on the exit, as you can then get the power down pretty quickly out of the bottom right hand part.

At Interlagos, you dont want to take the first part all the way to the right hand side. You compromise the exit of that first part so you can get a better drive out of the bottom right hand part.

But Interlagos's approach to its corkskrew is much faster, you brake downhill after a long straight. I've not played the Laguna Seca for a while, but Interlagos seems more fun just comparing them from memory. But, you're right Laguna's version is more compressed.

Here are TV cameras for the interlagos mod above, put the two files into "assettocorsa\content\tracks\interlagos\data"
