Assetto Corsa

Downloaded and installed this evening. Think I played a demo of this a year or so ago? Enjoying it so far on the Driving Force GT. Are the time attack times shown online or do we have a leader board on here for a target? :)

Ah what it is to setup your wheel and pedals properly.

Did the default lotus+track and instantly shaved a second off in a quick 20 min session. Looking at the leaderboards I'm only a few tenths off the top - if I get more time I might just plonk myself up there.

Does anyone know how they're going to handle multiplayer to avoid wreckers?

I've had to play around with my GT3 RS wheel because initially it was like a 900kg go-kart, really snappy, comedy steering wrestling etc.

Bleek could you let me know your GT3 RS settings please?
I received mine a few days ago, along with the Elite pedals, so I haven't got a handle on all the different settings for it yet.
( the 5 profiles, and being able to adjust settings on the fly while in-game, are very handy though )

There hasn't been much said about multiplayer yet afaik.
I imagine you'll be best advised to join a league / club as you would have done with rFactor, GTR, etc.. to avoid the wreckers.

I'm really interested in this, not had much sim experience but looking to get into it - I'd like to pick up a wheel and pedals but I can't justify a G27 or something as flashy/ pricey right now - can anyone recommend a half decent starter wheel & pedal set? Cheers

DFGT good starter wheel wouldnt get anything less than one of those. sterring is very good. they was on amazon on offer other day for 70 ish quid new ;)

I really wanted AC to have a proper career mode but it seems it won't be heading in this direction. This is a shame as it looks like a great sim but I get board without any objectives.

And before I forget, if you happen run triple screen at mismatched resolutions ( like I do - 1 x 1920x1080 + 2 x 1280x1024 ), AC will support them.
Unofficially at least anyway. It's like having SoftTH built in.

The trick to get it working is to make sure that full screen rendering is 'Off'.

AC renders the windowed triple screen view centered around the middle screen, so all I lose is the view beyond the 1280 res of my side monitors.

---Steps to get it working---

P.S, ignore what the in-game res is shown as in the dropdown menu from now on, as it only shows available system resolutions.

First, make sure full screen rendering is OFF
And that rendering mode is set to Triple Screen

Next, manually set a resolution in video.ini ( found in \Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\ ) that will fit across your 3 screens properly.
In my case this was 4480(1280+1920+1280)x1080
This is so you can access the apps menu when in-game for now.

Once that's done, go in-game & move the mouse to the right edge to bring up the apps menu
Open the triple screen config app, & any other you want displayed.
Move them to your middle screen for now.

You need to do this because you won't be able to access the apps menu once you change up to a larger res.
This is because the right edge of the 'window' the game is rendering to will be beyond the physical edge of your right side monitor.

Exit out of AC & open video.ini again.
Change the res to suit, in my case it's 5760x1080 as my centre monitor is 1920x1080, and go back in-game.
The apps you had opened will still be visible/working & you can move them to the side screens now.
Plus you can tweak the side screen rotation, bevel size, etc... since you opened the triple screen tweaker before you changed res.

Might not be ideal, but at least it works :)

sounds are truly epic - love the growl. if PD don't fix sounds I may have to check this out

car list has the essentials so far: Ferrari F40, 458 GT3, BMW Z4 GT3, M3 E92, Merc SLS GT3, McLaren MP4 GT3

great they are thinking of adding Aston, Audi, Nissan, RUF. hopefully GT3 classes to have some great online Blancpain Endurance type races

hopefully they will add GT race versions of GT40, Corvette C6 ZR1 in the future

missing Nordschleife, Suzuka and Bathurst :( hopefully they plan on adding these sooner rather than later. no Norschleife = no buy

JUst like Iracing then... Like Iracing does it support dual monitors in teh same way. At different resolutions ??

Nords isn't listed on their webpage as a v1.0 release track.

I'd imagine it'll be a dlc brought out after that, as they know people will buy it.

It doesn't have a dual screen setting in the menus at the moment.
Since it's only at v0.3.2 just now they could add it in a future version.

Although I imagine it could work right now.
Set it up as above, but just drag the window around to suit.
Just that you'd be rendering 3 screens worth, but only seeing 2.
