Assetto Corsa

While iracing is obviously the benchmark, there's plenty of good online racing to be found with AC.

Find a league. There are plenty out there.
Search for minorating servers. It doesn't guarantee a ******** free experience, or that nobody will make mistakes, but it's a good start.

Don't let a few dodgy ****s spoil it for you and make you think that everyone does it.

When I've raced online in the past I've been lucky to dodge complete idiots. Not seen anyone veering across the road or going around the track backwards. Mostly just slightly clumsy driving / making mistakes.
Should really try a league now I've got the room to leave my G25 setup and Logitech have finally released a fix to the wheel detecting incorrectly. The game has a new lease of life for me at the moment, loving some of the new cars too.

Anyone using Content Manager?

I'm also using all 3 parts of Fonsecker's sound packs. That Alfa GTA though... mm

Good and bad weathers, content manager and Track Day PP filter, looks gorgeous.

Yeah, I've been using it for a while.
Quite like it for single player, but I find the server browser to be a bit odd and usually use the AC browser for online stuff.

Apart from the real weather option, I'm not sure why the GBW guy says you need the manager to use his weathers though.

Had a few good races, managed to get to B rating, then someone hit the back of me and I was demoted, doh.
Just need to get a lot faster, lol

ive found online racing to be mostly great :) I'm terrible at it and come way down the list but 99% of people seem to try and race clean etc

Just got myself into the mindset for hotlapping in the holy trinity hypercars rather than the usual cars. Once you get your mind up to speed with just how fast they are you can really throw them around. Whilst I can't drift them all 3 are controllable with traction control off despite the immense power and a little flick of oversteer on the way out of bends is just epic.

I really need to get a racing seat and a better screen setup to take this game to the next level :D

thing I found with the hypercars is you gotta brake wayyyyyyy early, and driving style wise is more careful, while a slow hatchback or something u can just monster it and be aggressive :)

So I asked the author, and here's what he says:

"BUT for a simple usage of this MOD you need Content Manager! If you just use the standard launcher, the custom cloud textures, which are located in my weathers, are not used, because the standard AC launcher doesn't copy them to its texture/clouds folder. And this will look absolutely awful, because my textures have completely different dimensions and alpha values. And online usage is also not supported, because the server does not tell Content Manager which weather it is using and so it cannot load the right textures. There are some workarounds, but they are not comfortable for non-modders...."

I then took screenshots of 'Calm before Storm' loaded via MM and AC:

I don't think it looks awful, but it obviously isn't what he intended.

Yeah the brakes feel terrible at first because you are going so damn fast. Having to brake for Les Combes at Spa before the first marker board because you're doing 190mph :D

You can definitely hustle them, you just need to work up to it. I found starting quite slow and smoothly and working up you can really abuse them. But trying to just jump in and throw them around just results in crashes!

Anyone tried a Cayenne Turbo S round the 'ring? You can definitely hustle that like a smaller car, but you've got to treat the brakes like a hypercar. Fast, sounds good, but my god is it bloody heavy. :D

Go on then, even though I can't stand the thing :p
ED: Actually, I might be thinking of the RSR. Oh well, whatever. Bring it on :D

Not Nords though, if you don't mind.

I'm up for that, I'll even vote against the full ring. As much as I love driving it it's such a long lap for a time trial where just a single tiny mistake can waste 5+ minutes! Something like Mugello would be good.

Only had a quick go in the GT3 RS so far. Seemed like a bit of a handful initially.
