Assetto Corsa

Little heads up on Nvidia drivers in VR: 382.53 give solid 90fps on all max settings (including max reflections and ultra shadows) in VR, newest 384 have fps jump all over the place, difference is minus 10-20% in my case. Another tip to new VR users is to turn off Steam Home VR(in Steam settings), this 3d room also eats fps in AC. Lastly, I'm not a fan of this supersampling/pixel density stuff - not for AC anyway, too m uch performance hit for less shimmer on track fences.

Hi guys, i have been running the Ferrari 488 GT3 at Nuremburg GP track, But i am having a hard time to get the car to rotate in the corner, Any tips for driving this thing. It's nothing like the 458.

dunno what adjustments it has
but stiffer rear, (all suspension things) and higher rear ride height will help it turn
softer front will help it turn too, and lower front ride height

Is there a way to see AC menu in Oculus? Apparently there is a workaround on the Vive,is there a similar trick for Oculus? (the sim's amazing in VR btw, no words to describe- needs to be experienced )

HTC VIve workaround: In the SteamVR game menu make sure you choose the "desktop" mode while in the HMD steam interface. Then load AC from there and it will appear in the steamVR environment. When you enter a race or event you will use the Vive controller "system button " to switch from SteamVR environment to ingame VR view. That is all there is to it. It has always been this way.

EDIT: Virtual Desktop is the answer for Oculus.

Been driving the Testarossa all day today, it + Scotland Highlands Long track = match in heaven.
BTW there are two different Diablo mods - VT and the Jota. VT is bundled with the 512TR and I prefer it as its badge is in the right place - on the bonnet :p Don't particularly care for either of them though (understeery 4WD), Testarossa is where its at :)

I'm just not getting something in AC...where is the grip? I'm either getting understeer (even at low speeds) or corner exit oversteer (even at low speeds). Had the usual ballsache to get it working as I hadn't used it for a while as well, Controller profile had disappeared, VR not working...

I remember it being much better than this, has something changed recently (I say recently it's probably been 4 months lol)?

Something ain't right with the understeer in the game not sure if its a bug or configuration issue on my end or what. I've had far more grip driving actual cars on one of the tracks IRL than the game.

There was a recent thread on this exact thing on AC forums: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...te-handles-nothing-like-the-actual-car.47079/

The discussion went like this:
OP: AC Corvette C7 is nothing like my real life C7. AC C7 spins out at 30mph at turn1 at Spa, real one takes it at 45+mph easy.
Other poster: here's a vid of AC C7 taking T1 at 34mph with no spinning out.
Other poster: Heres a vid of real C6 Corvette with min speed being 41kmh (26mph) in that corner.
Other poster: " a Huracan GT3 in superpole configuration got 63kmh at the apex. An Audi R18 got 60kmh in endurance configuration. A 997 GT3 got 59kmh and we're talking with slick tyres for all of them. 72kmh (45+ MPH) with a vette at the apex is out of this world."
OP: I was wrong about 45+mph, but I still feel everythings wrong in the sim
Other poster: show us a video or some other data of the bit that is wrong.
OP: ...

I agree with this approach, if your real car has more grip, make a video and we could compare. Feelings can be distorted by differences in perception of speed in RL vs sim, perception of g-forces, emotions etc. But if your car has more grip, it will carry more speed and these numbers could then be compared with the sim and produce substantiated judgements.

If we were in kunos Dev forum asking them to fix it then yeah absolutely, but here we're just chatting. Personally I don't remember it being this bad previously so I was wondering if something had changed, I didn't out and out declare it was wrong.

I love AC it just felt a bit off when I got back on it the other night.

I had a feeling lift off oversteer/weight transfer was completely broken/absent in AC, posted a thread about it couple of weeks back :) http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...off-oversteer-in-tyres-v10-vs-tyres-v7.46880/
5 pages worth of posts later, I concluded that I was probably wrong :D
"
Yep, I've not had much time to think about this since the weekend, but from the (once again circumstantial) evidence that I've picked up, current AC lift off behaviour is credible. Older MR cars like the F40 oversteer on lift off, particularly if you lift off at high revs and/or while facing downhill. From Ferrari owners forums:
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/fe...ngine-handling-dynamics-what-do-you-know.html

Meanwhile AC's modern 458 is more mild with LO oversteer and seems to echo this owner's post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nonononoyes/comments/5xpevq/trying_to_show_off_in_a_ferrari/deka0in/

I still have questions, but the situation is certainly looking like "2) Lift off oversteer effect is less now but it is more realistic" to me now :)"
