Assetto Corsa

I do the odd bit of drifting but not a huge amount of it, it's fun in small doses! Getting a handbrake lever would be interesting, how complex is making one?
He's making it from an actual hydro, 3d printed parts etc.

I guess you would need to produce a few parts either 3d print or cut out of metal and shape, do a bit of soldering on the small circuit board and then do a bit of scripting. :p

OK I just got myself this game , and I'm using a G29 and pedals ...but the brake and accelerator are back to front (accelerator is in the middle and the brake is on the right hand end , anyone tell me how to set them as they should be please ?

Thanks :)
Click the invert box next to pedal controls under settings in the game.

How durable is that? I picked up a cheapy 3D printer that was discounted massively in the Black Friday sales to have a play with a few ideas for electronics projects down the line.

Tried drifting, it's very difficult to stay on the drift track. Getting better, but as said, good in small doses.
Sure I'm going to rip the wheel off my desk and a handbrake would be good.

Can you assign a wheel and joystick in the game?

The grey material is carbon fibre PETG and main plate is 8mm thick with a 25mm thick central interior structure. It's tough and rigid.

It works? I can see you've got the thrustmaster wheelbase connection fitted.

Mighty fine job anyhow. For the effort you've put in, paint app, or maybe a laser cut face plate? it'd look the real deal with a brushed alu plate stained black:)

Yeah, it's all wired and working.
Alu face plate could work, but that's a little heavy and I'd have to get someone else to make it :) I was considering priming and painting the face, though it's just a functional proof of concept kind of thing, not an attempt at a highly polished item for sale or anything.

Handbrake isn't necessary, I drift using weight shift. The E30 just has enough power for that, its also the best car to learn how to drift in IMHO.

Edit:

I drift using 900 degrees, I use mods mostly as I can increase the feedback in the files and tweak the physics a bit to feel a bit more realistic.

Had a play around with a remake of the Gothic S15 today, the remake hasn't been shared yet. But this feels great, the steering feel similiar to my mates E36 drift car without the power steering.

Handbrake nearly done, unfortunately one of the parts delivered from our asian friends came damaged. So I'll have to wait another 2-3 weeks for another one, but it'll be worth it! I did a bit of drifting at my mates setup today and can see how much easier it is with a hydro. :)

If anyone wants to join me for some racing, I'll be on this server most of tomorrow.

It depends what you mean by 'better', and what you're looking for in a driving sim. iRacing/Rfactor2/Automobilista/R3E/Assetto etc all have their pro's and cons and all are great in their own way.
I see you're looking at getting a wheel in your other thread. While it is possible to scrape by with a pad in Assetto, I'd say to wait until you've got a wheel sorted out and then hit the buy button.

Is a more serious sim what you're after, or would something like Forza 7 be more suited?
Project cars 2 is meant to be decent with a pad.
