Assetto Corsa

Thinking of getting this as I can't deal with paying for my iracing sub and not actually then racing for months on end.

If I buy this now, will I have to fork out when the final release comes?

Well sod it, I just purchased it at list price via steam. Might as well help Gabe and The Devs. Looks good, so I think I will have a raz on it tonight as the mrs is out till later.

Must be better than the heap of crap that is F1 2011/2012. Didnt bother with 2013 as I wasn't prepared to give codies my money for that.

Inserting your hand into a blender is better than having to play Codemasters version of F1. They should be banned from ever having anything to do with F1 again.

Anthony Davidson has a lot to answer for on that one too. No wonder his F1 career never went anywhere.
AC on the other hand is brilliant. The devs are pretty awesome to boot. Nothing like those bunch of liars at CM.

Was wondering when you'd get it matt. Fingers crossed they get lan MP support in the future (hint hint)

You know what I was thinking the same, it would be absolute mayhem. After playing for an hour its very rewarding if you hook it up, if you become over confident then itll spit you out into a tyre wall :D.

I am however struggling with my Xbox controller, anyone have any decent settings for it?

These work well for me and others here have found them pretty decent :)

Pad settings as below. For twitchier cars, you might want to dampen the steering a little.

Works well (for me) with the Abarth and the BMW GT cars too.
Other cars need a bit of work.

I'm sure most of you sim guys know what SLI-M/Pro displays are, and have also seen SLI-EMU too, but I just thought I'd post my own recommendation for SLI-EMU for those of us that can't justify the cost of (or simply afford) the hardware based options like this awesome thing for example :)

Basically, SLI-EMU runs on your android phone via your home wifi and there is zero lag.

There are a few videos of it in action and they're all crap, but here's one anyway:

In anticipation of my new wheel arriving, I got this running on my Galaxy S2 and using an xbox pad with assetto and I have to say it's bloody brilliant. I'm now looking at getting a slightly smaller, cheap android phone and mounting it with velcro or something to the wheel.

It costs $10 (£6) and getting it installed and licensed is a bit of a pain, but it's well worth it IMO.
You can find it here: http://www.eksimracing.com/

Ooooo :) Is that a CTR Yellowbird?
Will be nice to have another car with a very different drive train, see if the RR config is as scary as Clarkson always makes out in old topgears :p

Really hoping some 4WD cars get added to the game too!

4WD was announced - Nissan GTR is in the works already. AC physics boffins already commented that recreating its Attesa drivetrain is a big challenge, but they are up for it :)

Anyone got any good resources on how to set a wheel up for this being that my Logitech Formula Force GP doesn't have a standard template for it, nor does anyone seem to have one these days?

The rotation is limited to 180 degs, and I think because of this the sensitivity in the game is just stupid.

Oh sweet, missed that announcement. I thought that was project Cars that they were aiming to get the GTR into!

2014 blabla, yes, ok. For me is just Wednesday. A day like any other..

To Stefano...@KunosStefano BTW, if loose surface model is implemented it would really make rally crowd go crazy with joy here in scandinavia. ;)

From Stefano:
@EmilYBlixt that is very high in my "wish list" for 2014. I need to sort out AWD first tho.

To Stefano:
@KunosStefano With GTR incoming AWD will have to be more than "wish list" I doubt Nissan license is for the Altima

From Stefano:
@oooRickyBobby true.. that's a must not a wish

Set it like this in Logitech Game Soft

Then run calibration test in AC to calibrate pedals, wheel, shifter. Only needs to be done once :)
