Assetto Corsa

gutted I always miss out on these lol. It reminds me of when the T500RS was like $129 but only for delivery in America and most people actually received them too.

Does anyone else have an issue with the wheel being knocked out of kilter/off centre if youre drifting in Assetto? I have to stop every now and then and disconnect & re-connect the wheel. Can't say as I've noticed it in any other games.

It is a G25. Probably an issue with the wheel itself, or me being too rough? (its hard not to be when youre drifting about...)

It's been that price before from Logitech, just over the past few years they have bumped up the price and it isn't worth £300 rrp when the T500RS is leaps and bounds better and has been the same price and less from OCUK and other retailers. Maybe with the anticipation of new console games like GT6, Drive Club etc that the price has gone up. The same thing happens with fight sticks.

I picked my T500RS from OCUK for £220 which was an open box return, it's a bargain compared to today's prices. It even had the address of the chap who had it before me in the box lol

I dont think g27 was ever available at that price, this code was meant for Logitech headphones but somehow ended up working for everything on their website, including g27.

The wheel is much faster on T500, but the pedals were reported to be not as good as the Logi ones and you dont get an H-shifter with the T500, another separate expense. Plus Logi has 3 years warranty. I think G27 is a very good value for money at £200, when compared to competition. Fast enough for drifting (many "youtube dorifto kings" use it), precise enough for world records (look at AC leaderboard), reliable, decent pedals, decent shifter, good warranty. T500 with shifter is near enough double the price. Similar thing with Fanatec clubsport/elite.

I think its the only common problem with logi wheels: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/11012-G27-losing-its-centering-position-(hardware-fix)

Basically one cog is known to break and cause this, to solve you need to replace the cog or glue it back together.

I've owned a Logitech Momo, G25 and G27 wheels. I now own a T500 with bother the GT and F1 rims, as well as the TH8 shifter.

Every time I've changed wheels, I've spent more money and I think that every time I've ended up with a better product. I also think the price I've paid to upgrade has been worth it every time. But each time the gain has gotten a little smaller.

I still think that a second hand G25 is probably the best bang for buck to start sim racing with, as long as it hasn't been ragged to death.

After that it's all down to buying whatever suits your budget.

Have you modded the paddles or do you just use the static, tbh that is the only thing stopping me from ordering one right now as I am not convinced I will be able to get used to them!

No I haven't modded the paddles.

But I broke the original GT rim and now use the F1 rim, which has paddles that move with the wheel.

I wouldn't say the static paddles are too much of an issue. They are long enough that you can shift mid corner most of the time anyway. But having said that, you should've have all of your shifting and braking done before you enter a corner anyway. It's only really modern F1 cars that shift mid corner.

The best bet is to try and buy the T500 with the 458 rim if they sell it in that combination.

Changelog Early Access 0.7.5
- Pagani Huayra new car (turbo related sounds still wip)
- TC now does not engadge until a car specific speed when launching from stand still
- Aero fixes for Lotus Exos T125, corrects nose up excessive top speed
- Option for player selective collisions. A small workaround until we properly fix the AI.
Collisions only occur around a small distance from the player. All other cars do not collide,
limiting CPU occupation
- Fixed replay audio bug
- Fixed GUI on some apps
- Fixed race output
- New APP :: Track Description
- New APP :: Real Time X360 car controls debug
- Damage OFF option
- Fixed some glitches in mirror rendering
- Improved CPU performance on Monza
- Reduced launcher RAM and VRAM consumption while the simulator is active.
- Added French translation.
- Collision fixes at Monza and Silverstone gp
- Physical mesh at Silverstone gp more detailed.
- Fixed Concrete size at S-Schumacher, Nurburgring GP
- The launcher now keeps a rotating backup store of the local database (found in
Documents\Assetto Corsa\launcherdata\backups)

Assetto Corsa - Development Update 0.7.5
Hello from the Assetto Corsa development team.
Assetto Corsa Early Access v.0.7.5 has been released today. This version includes the new Pagani Huayra Model Year 2013: this awesome hypercar has been modeled and reproduced in cooperation with the R&D department at Pagani Automobili, that also provided the algorithms needed to feature the active aero system performed by the Huayra: seven aerodynamic devices simulate drag and downforce, four of them are movable, controlled by sixteen telemetry channels.
All of this, plus the precise suspension kinematics taken from official Pagani IGES data, the engine twin turbo simulation and the advanced tyre model, makes for an exciting driving
experience, second only to the real counterpart.
This new version of Assetto Corsa includes minor improvements and optimizations to the UI functionalities, AI driving lines and performances, as well as some workaround for AI collisions
that guarantee a better race experience while our development team continue to work on bigger and complex tasks with the aim to reach the 1.0 version of the game soon enough.

This week our development team had the pleasure to meet Aaron Davies, Head of Developer Relations at Oculus VR, working closely with him and his staff at our R&D office to improve compatibility and performance of Assetto Corsa with the Oculus Rift technology, in order to provide the best support to Oculus VR for future updates.

The Pagani is bloody awesome to drive. Feels planted and massive fast without ever feeling glued to the track. Love the active aero on it! Great to watch when you're tailing another one too!
Of the non full manual cars (ie paddle shift + has ABS) this is definitely the most fun to drive imo. Great noise too :D

Great news on the Oculus Rift too :)

I think im just fed up of playing on my own now, need to get MP sorted fast in my eyes. Although i have regular contact with the devs via my Staff position at Race Department and i knew MP wasn't coming this update, I can't help but feel that its beginning to grate some people now.

I'm torn. I know I'll absolutely love Multiplayer when the planets align and you end up in a race full of drivers not intentionally crashing into you, but that's often not to be the case. Or certainly has never been like that in any game I've played until now!

More cars and tracks would be great. The thing I tend to enjoy most in sim games is hot lapping of big complex circuits (Nord etc...)
Cruising around Nord with a few mates in awesome cars and just enjoying the driving and scenery just sounds a great way to chill for me.
