if your into driving then its definatly worth it. I use a DS4 pad and have a blast on it. Its gotten more use than any of my other games so I would say yes for that price.
I bought this a few weeks back when it was £20 and have since put about 10 hours into it, using the xbox360 pad it feels very nice. I was previously playing both Forza 5 and PCars, but AC is in my opinion more fun as a single player than either. Ive installed the RSR leaderboard mod, which adds a nice competitive element, I feel the game will only get better when Multiplayer is added.
To recap, definately worth buying if your into driving games.
People who use xbox pads beat my times and I use a wheel, so I don't see why this game can't be played without a controller even if my ego takes a kicking lol
Bear in mind it's an early access game with no career or multiplayer yet, but if rumours are true then April is when the game should be ready for full release.
If you get the settings right its fantastic on a pad still. I am considering investing a cheaper wheel eventually but in no rush as experience is still cracking on my x360 controller
Damn, that means ill probably have to dig my old Fanatec TurboS and Clubsport pedals out, i packed them away when MS decided to make them incompatible with Forza5. I fully expect to be slower with the wheel over the pad, but, generally driving games are so much more fun and immersive when using them.
Played this last night, albeit on a Xbox360 controller.
No assists with BMW 1M and then Ferrari 458.
I must have some controller issues as they were impossible to drift. It would just swap ends as soon as traction broke, cars do not behave that way IRL... I'll have another play with the settings, but also found some weird physics when powersliding also.
Graphics are pretty and sound is pretty good also though.
Yeah, drifting needs some pretty fine wheel and pedal control. But, drifting is not just possible in AC, it is pretty much agreed the best drifting sim right now (taken over from LFS).
I'm sure some people will manage drifting with a keyboard, but really a wheel is a must for that.
Just tried it with an xbox360 pad, I think its ok for racing, but for drifting it does not let you go full lock to full lock fast enough, not sure if there is a setting somwhere
