Assetto Corsa

Wow just did the changes Borsch suggested, it looks amazing! Well worth it - time to start taking some snazzy photos in the showroom then.

With your hardware, make sure you run 8x (or 4x) SparseGridSuperSampling in nvidia inspector, it makes the game look really good. Also do not use fast AA form ingame options as it blurs up the picture. Also set reflection cube maps resolution to low and Faces to 6.

Then the game should look like this:

Use PageUp/PageDown to control brightness in game.

These threads have a few small tips:

Last but not least, enjoy it with a pad, but start saving up for a decent wheel as it truly takes AC to another level :)

Why cube maps res to low? I'm curious

Also do many of you use HDR? What Iv found out is that if you set the track time to 8:30am it looks spectacular and the HDR lighting really shines there but if you run it further along in the day it looks far to overblown and rubbish. In other words I basically just run every race/practise at 8:30am with HDR on.
I do wish they would fix the crossfire issue though with HDR where it causes flickering.

This game has more jaggies than a security fence even with X8 Supersampling. You can really see them on open wheelers in cockpit view.

I even tried the highest X8 aliasing the game offers and it still shows. I'll see if using NVIDIA's aliasing is better.

I find 8x AA with 1x Fast AA produces the best result visually with my R9 280x

The low cube maps look better, "less busy" reflections- in my opinion, although I have not tried high maps in recent patches.

HDR - always on for me. Use PageUP/PageDown to reduce exposure/overblown brightness when in game ;)

There was some trick to activate SSAA for AMD, for Nvidia the jaggies are very nearly completely solved with SGSSAA via inspector. Full on SSAA should be even better, but my hardware is not up to the task.

If you look at the white strip around the cockpit there are loads of jaggies. This is using X8 SGSSAA in Nvidia Inspector, X4AA and no FXAA in game. Using X8AA doesn't remove it too.

Applying atleast +3 FXAA or above somewhat masks it by introducing blur, but it's still not crisp.

The game is gorgeous. I do think a couple of things let it down though... no doubt the car models look stunning but I don't think the track details match them graphic wise especially the trees.

I cannot disable HDR also as it turns off FXAA, which is really strange.

Yep, linked for me too, but I never want to disable HDR as with the pageUp/down trick it always looks better for me.

My favourite thing about AC's graphics is how cars move in it. I've posted this gif before, but it here it is again:) The little dips in the road, the way the car sways side to side before settling- tasty :)

Love that gif. Although find a lot of the time watching the replays of me driving that it doesn't quite look right. Not managed to put a finger on it yet.

When you use the Pg Dwn key to reduce the HDR intensity, is there a way to save the setting as when I load the game again it forgets everything?

I have to keep reminding myself that the game is still a working beta, so I shouldn't be too picky, but I'm afraid if I don't mention it on the AC forums or generally then it could be overlooked. I want this game to be perfect and not a screenshot simulator like pCars (only kidding I want to buy that game too if there is a demo released) :p

If Kunos allow macro buttons or keystrokes to enable and disable the apps in game, then I can use Voice Attack to make the whole sim experience even more enjoyable.

Also, I've been beta testing something called HUD Dash for Android phones and tablets and it's coming on really well. I'll more than likely buy the app once it's finished as it will include some high res analogue dials modelled from the cars in AC.
