Assetto Corsa

Actually wasn't there a kickstarter for keyboards that could be used for racing games. It provided rumble effects and some kind of linearity.

In other news I've mapped Voice Attack's mouse movement to work with the apps. I'll be mapping other voice commands and putting it through it's paces tonight. Fingers crossed it all works, as it can be flaky at the best of times.

anyone have a decent ball park date for final release, I'm getting impatient waiting for multiplayer......about all I've found is either Nov 13 beta release or TBA...

I have an xbox PC controller, I was working all day today so just had a quick go mid-work (the advantage of having a 690 gtx in your work PC - how many people can claim that :P) :D

You mean in game or in these wip screenhots?

I spend most of my AC time on Silverstone and a bit on Drift curcuit. Neither is a hilly track, so I dont know... All tracks in AC are laser scanned, so their elevation gradients and proportions in general should be spot on however.

Do you have any other benchmark to compare with? I know that Iracing laser scans their tracks as well, but I've never tried it. Rf2 Silverstone feels very similar to AC's one - in terms of elevation changes anyway- but its tracks are not scanned.

First turn of nurburgring GP track certainly feels Damn steep to me in the braking zone. Some very noteable elevation changes at Imola too. Can't wait for Spa. Going to be great fun in the S3 F40!

Do you know if they will add the public nurburgring route?

On Forza etc you don't feel any of the bumps on the nur that you do IRL so it would be good if you did on this - being laser scanned you might... would be good practice for future trips!

Forza Nurb is pants, GT5-6 has it laser scanned, so its the benchmark right now :)

AC are also making it (also laser scanned), it will be part of their "Dreampack" DLC next autumn together with some cars.

what kind of performance figures are you guys getting with a full grid at Silverstone (24 cars) and what graphic settings are you using?

I'm not sure why, but my Crossfire doesn't seem to be working quite right. Here are my graphics settings I'm using, pretty much 95% maxed out as running everything completely maximum on a 24 grid seems to end poorly for me.

Here are my settings

I'm getting dips down to 30fps using these settings averaging 60fps on a 24 man grid, i've locked frames to max 70 but these numbers don't seem right to me. Can you try the same settings pls and state your specs please so I can try and work out if something is amiss.

Borsch - do you get the visual feeling of track elevation/decline from this game? Even in 3D I don't and I don't know if it's a setting thing or not?

If you're not feeling elevation changes then it's probably because your FOV ( field of view ) is set too high.

Lowering this will increase the sense of elevation changes, but it will also reduce the sensation of speed you feel.

JUST DISABLED MY CROSSFIRE, EXACTLY THE SAME FIGURES :( Wonder why my Crossfire doesn't seem to be working properly in this game. Turned it back on with an overlay and I'm only running both cards at 40%-45% each...weird. May try the 14.3 betas

Tony - look at CPU load.
Having 24 cars hammers the cpu so it might be bottlenecked? (despite the cpu you have being high end)

This is a very good tweak. If you quickly wiggle your steering wheel left-right-left-right you'll notice that ingame wheel very noticeably lags behind your physical one, apply this tweak and try again - now they are very nearly in sync.

This way you're in more direct control when catching slides for example, a must imho.

I am getting about 60 at the start, with split second dip into50s when there is lots of smoke from wheel spin. During race fps settles around 80. I have 16x AF, 8 AA and 6fast AA, the rest same as your settings.

well the highest any of my core threads gets is 60% usage then the other 7 less and less so clearly nowhere near a CPU bottleneck. There's no way in the world an I7 overclocked to 4.6GHz will be a bottleneck in this game let alone any game IMO.

The problem is my Crossfire setup, both cards are only running between 35% and 45% so clearly scaling is shot on AMD crossfire setup. They actually went as low as 31% usage each lmao..that's ridiculous.
