Assetto Corsa

well the highest any of my core threads gets is 60% usage then the other 7 less and less so clearly nowhere near a CPU bottleneck. There's no way in the world an I7 overclocked to 4.6GHz will be a bottleneck in this game let alone any game IMO.

Fair enough, thought it was worth a mention. I know with a full grid of cars I do see very high cpu, but I'm on a stock i5 3570k. Figured that + the cpu overhead from Crossfire might have maybe pushed it.

well that's it, I'll be playing this with crossfire disabled, it makes no sense. When I run this totally maxed out apart from 4 faces per frame and medium cubemap res on a single card with a 24 car grid, I hit 70fps at the green light with tyre smoke and then up to 100fps out on the circuit. When I enable crossfire my frames dip to 30fps at the green light and around 60fps out on the circuit. Makes no sense. On a single GPU getting 100% usage, on Crossfire both cards run at 40% on average and in places I've seen both cards run at 31% lmao...makes no sense.

The crazy thing is, I hit higher fps running 16xAF and 8xAA with everything else maxed on just one card than what I do running Crossfire and only 8xAF and 4xAA...work that **** out

Pretty annoying cause I want to run high cubemap res and 6 faces per frame to see the real beauty. There's so much power left in my second card it would eat these settings for breakfast dinner and lunch. Guess I'll have to just disable Crossfire.

You mean in game or in these wip screenhots?

I spend most of my AC time on Silverstone and a bit on Drift curcuit. Neither is a hilly track, so I dont know... All tracks in AC are laser scanned, so their elevation gradients and proportions in general should be spot on however.

Do you have any other benchmark to compare with? I know that Iracing laser scans their tracks as well, but I've never tried it. Rf2 Silverstone feels very similar to AC's one - in terms of elevation changes anyway- but its tracks are not scanned.

No I mean in game. I only use cockpit view but I hope for example when approaching Eau Rouge that you can visually see the gradient as it's pretty steep.

My FOV is set quite low, iirc 40, but depending on the car I will set it higher.

TonyTurbo78 - i5 3570k 4.5ghz overclock and I get around 60% usage at the highest.

HOLY **** GUYS I'VE GOT IT.

Turned my HDR on, tested and now getting 90% usage on both my GPUS, 16xAF and 8xSSAA every detail maxed out, high res cube maps and 6 frame faces, game is flipping unreal to look at. Not a jaggie in sight, the HDR has turned this game into a monster, wow. Getting flawless locked frames at 75, when I turn it off I'm getting 100+ on a 24 car grid. I'm flipping ecstatic. I thought setting Super Sampling AA in CCC would kill my frames, nope.

HDR it would seem.

With it turned on I get 90% usage on both cards, disable it and only around 40% usage on both cards. Very weird, but I don't care now, HDR and 8xSSAA is out of this world :) and fps are through the roof so all in all, I'm incredibly happy. Now just to get a G27 at some point before full release.

I misunderstood your "when I turn it off I'm getting 100+ on a 24 car grid", i though you were talking about turning off HDR, but you meant the limiter :D

Ok, congrats! I'm envious now :)

Is that constant 75fps? I still get drops to 30fps if I run the same settings, I wonder if SSAA is less taxing on the gpu than SGSSAA. Still I'm glad you've got it sorted. You running 8XAA too?

I'm running sli670 1280mhz

cheers guys..not sure if it helps mate, sometimes easier to post a pic instead of trying to describe. But here's what I've set up now

At the start it drops maybe 10 frames with all the smoke if your at the back of the grid, but from the front hardly dips, but pretty much a solid 75 all way round. Actually tested it with it off, although had a wee bit of tearing (frame pacing was on in CCC so the amount was very small) I was getting a good 90fps and peaked at 100+ in a few places.

I always thought Project Cars actually looked better, but with the way I have it set now, hell no. This game looks just so beautiful, cant believe the lighting now and the reflections on the car. And to answer your question regarding the SXXXGVVVAAAAAA or whatever you wrote lol, I've no idea, never owned an Nvidia card. All I know is Super Sampling is very demanding, I'm guessing that's Nvidias process which is the same correct?

Tony you sly dog, with everything maxxed out like you have above the game looks even more amazing! Hit around 60-70 fps so some minor tweaks may need to be done!

G27 Monday, will try game before work.

awesome. How do you get the helmet mod working? I'm not signed up to the Assetto site.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/9lrpdd6h9z3kfdk/VisorX+v1.6.zip

Changelog

Changelog v1.4:
- Added app icon
- Added save function for transparency and visors (your settings are now stored)
- Now use "my" helmets/visors for 1920x1080 too
- Added a totally new function to get your gaming resolution (should now work on every system)
Changelog v1.5:
- Added visible/unvisible function
- Changed app design
Changelog v1.6:
- Added zoom function of the helmet (will not be saved!)
- Fixed repos VisorX problem (show/hide app is not needed anymore)
- Fixed a res bug
- Changed credits text

The app reads your screen resolution and fits the helmet to your screen. It will set the helmet for your resolution automatically.

Feedback would be nice! Hope u like VisorX ;-)

Here are some notes:
Supports only resolutions: 2560x1080 (21:9), 1920x1080 (16:9), 2560x1440 (4:3), no multiscreen
I made my own graphics for 2560x1080, hope u like it
Visors for 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 are stretched cause the aspect ratio
Use TrackIR for better and authentic feeling..
@Kunos, please fix that TrackIR bug!
My visors:
(2560x1080 native) McLaren visor > yellow filter with scratches and dirt
(2560x1080 native) Audi visor > metallic rainbow with scratches and dirt
(2560x1080 native) Blank visor > no filter, no dirt
(2560x1080 native) Assetto Corsa visor > red filter with scratches and reflex
(2560x1080 native) Ferrari visor > blue filter with scratches and dirt
(2560x1080 native) Renault visor > no filter with scratches and dirt

Installation:

Download and extract VisorX v1.4.zip. Copy the content of the extracted folder to your installation folder f.e. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa".
This will bring you the app, the textures and the app icon into AC.

Go to apps bar at the right and search for VisorX app (should be one of the last apps displayed).

How to set up:

There should be no need for it...
(Move your other apps in the right position first. Then activate VisorX app in
apps task bar. Place it nearly filling your screen. Once press the first icon in apps task bar
to "hide all apps" and then press it again "to show all apps".
VisorX now should be placed at the correct position.)

Did some legit testing both last night and this morning on the effects of drinking whilst under the influence of alcohol / hungover.
Couldn't get under a 2:07 in the S3 F40 around Mugello last night (PB ~2.00) and this morning I can't even finish a lap without spinning into the gravel :p

Think I did 20 laps straight around Mugello last night after my friends had gone home, followed by a couple more in Lauda's Ferrari. Great fun if slow laps!

Managed to get my graphics looking better, the Nvidia Inspector doesn't seem to override the AA properly, but setting it ingame along with some of the other settings mentioned still looks solid to me and runs nicely - so happy for now :)

Can't get the game to run at all this morning, getting an error about a crash dump. Doing a fresh install now. Think I may have played around with 1 too many settings. Oops

Edit - nope fresh install doesn't work no idea what is going on, getting this error
