Assetto Corsa

A dedi server is easy to set up, done one for testing on my laptop and a more formal one on a games server for the simraicing.org.uk guys to play with. Annoying bit is there is a program that you run that'll create the config file and then launch the server. This doesn't run on a PC which doesn't have a full AC install on it so you either have to manually edit the file on the server or create it locally and then upload it. So close but no cigar for that one.

While having a play earlier today one guy didn't join the grid quickly enough so started in the pits, at Silverstone this meant he got the lead!

MP has been a mixed bag for me so far. Ive having real trouble with most other cars lagging and jittering around me, makes racing wheel to wheel impossible. Not sure if the problem is on my end . . .

Anyone else having the same issue?

Some more progress. All the internal cabling has been sorted out, the monitor stand tidied up, the side panels at the front routed and 2 additional Buttkickers now operational. Still loads to do:

Edit: some extra work on the front panels:

Is it me or are 95% of all servers GT3 cars only? Considering how great both the KTM and F40 are to drive I'd have atleast seen 1 server running them by now!

Finally got my G27 working properly with this and love it :)

I bought AC just before christmas and hadn't really played it much but now I just want to stay home tomorrow and play it!

Had a race in the Abarth Single Seaters (clicked it by mistake thinking it was the 500s)
My god, why have I not driven these before? Great fun! :D Shame about the fact that atleast half the grid were completely hopeless at driving!

The 500s are great fun in MP as they're so forgiving to a bit of contact. More than can be said about the GT race I joined... Full grid and full damage, Absolute carnage before I even got to the first corner.

Despite everything I'm yet to see someone deliberately ram. Just clumsiness and people not being careful pulling back onto the track. I just remember GTR and similar usually having to deal with people just driving down the straight backwards trying to hit you... Sure that'll come with time though.

I've not even played multiplayer yet..I'm too scared after reading about people who ram whether intentionally or not. Whilst I do have cat like reflexes and good situational awareness I'm afraid what the outcome maybe if I clip or get clipped.

I only like the McClaren GT3 car as I find it easy to handle compared to everything else.

Kunos are also looking into the problem of pirated copies of games joining multiplayer.

After getting a 30% off code, i've gone and ordered a G27 as an upgrade to my DF:GT. Made it about 20-25 cheaper than the rainforest, and it's direct from Logitech. Always made it effortless when i've had to use the warranty.

Can't wait!

It is a very good wheel. I bought mine with my bitcoin that I mined lol so cant complain. I do sometimes wonder what the T500 or fanatec ones would be like as clipping is the only bad thing about the g27 in my eyes but for now its perfect for my needs.
Ill probably update in the future though.

After a few races online, it's been a pretty positive experience. I haven't seen jumping cars , and I've had some good battles with the people around me. In the last race last night, I was in a BMW at the Nurburgring and I could feel my soft tyres were not as grippy as a few laps earlier. I was just in front of two other cars and got all excited into the last corner, accelerated too hard and span my car and finished behind them. Assetto Corsa looks great, it drives great and now at least, we can drive against real people.
