Assetto Corsa

So I don't have to trawl through 64 pages to find an answer, I was hoping someone could help me out.

I've been feeling like playing a racing game lately and I'd like to try online (never played one online) I have a copy of Grid 2 I've not really played that came with my CPU but I've heard some good things about AC too.

Is AC much better online? What's the community like? In terms of size, numbers playing etc. Also, does it play well with a 360 controller?

This is so much fun!
Nürburgring Nordschleife + weather mod to get rid of those overly sunny bright blue skys...plus I think it makes the overall colors look better.
Helmet mod (lotus helmet) and the taatus f1 car with lotus exo 125 skin.

Heres how it looks with the helmet and without.

The racing physics are sublime. The visuals are excellent too. Multiplayer is a new addition and as such, is a work in progress. Remember the game is still pre-release. The 360 controller works well, I used one before I got my DFGT. You really need a wheel to wring all the fun out of this though.

Thanks for answering. I didn't know it was a pre-release, I guess that bodes well. Any comparison to Grid 2?

R-Pod MkII weekly progress:

Side panels for this:

It will need to have polyurethane applied - blackboard paint isn't too durable unfortunately.

Also working on some embedded LED lighting in various places.

I'm really tempted to buy this, I imagine it'll go up in price after it's released. Anyone know of a cheap place to get it?

I tried it at a friends, it's quite hard! I think I got soft playing Grid 2 and being able to sort of drift round corners rather than braking. It's really good fun though, it just has a bit of a learning curve. If I wanted to play it properly I think I'd definitely have to get a wheel, the 360 controller makes it far too twitchy.

how have you guys got the graphics looking so good, is there some tweaking im unaware of?

I'm not sure what you set yours too but I have mine maxed out...HDR off as it blurs the image. Its much sharper with HDR off.
I use a weather mod to get rid of the very blue sunny skys and it makes the whole image to me look much more natural. I have supersampling set in the AMD control panel but leave it set at application controlled then set it to either 4x or 8x in game.
That's pretty much about it.

Race a few days ago on Nurburgring GP3 in the BMW Z4 GT3.

Not the best driver, nor smoothest by far. Just seen few people asking what it's like so here's some gameplay :p

By the way, how awesome does the Z4 sound?:D

Awesome video but that's one of the other reasons I have HDR set to off lol look at that sky man its so bright and light blue its blinding. It makes it look like cartoon colours :D

Even with the more subtle weather mod with HDR on it just looks too overblown and unnatural to me.
HDR off ...

Took a screenshot from your video too and uploaded a pic from the same car with HDR off and the weather mod.
Of course its all down to personal preference but just showing the extreme difference.

Looks pretty sweet with the HDR in that video shot. Might need to turn it back on for show at the weekend (Off to a Lanparty...)
Remember it looking really quite poor when I tried it initially, some things were too bright to even pick out detail.
