Assistance - Calling all Samsung EVO owners

Is mine good or bad? Been a bit slower than normal opening certain programs I've noticed.

Is it only slow because the first 30% of the drive has my OS and apps on it?

It's starting to degrade but nothing serious. Give it another month or so and it'll be really grinding to a halt.
 
Since running the last Samsung 'fix' mine has significantly slowed down again, and Diskfresh doesn't want to run (perhaps because it's in a WHS box and it's expecting a business use licence for a server?) I'm considering just replacing it with a new (non-Samsung) one as I'm losing confidence that the drive will be properly fixed.

the fix is meant to be released on the 14th (2 days from now) so I would give that a try before replacing it as it may save you the money and fix the issues

Thanks, I had spotted that and will wait to see if it arrives and and how others get on with it before I give it a go, but it will obviously take quite a while to find out if the problem is finally solved. It's the boot disk in my server and I bought it thinking it would be a quick and reliable disk that I wouldn't need to mess with, and each firmware update has a small chance of going wrong and leaving me needing a new disk in a hurry to restore to... I really don't want the hassle!

am sure the samsung 840 pro looks ok in which is my main drive and then we got the samsung 804 evo which is my 2nd drive which only got an few games on which is quite newish from ocuk in august 2014 which i don't think look's very good to me to tell the truth am not sure what am looking at ?? your veiws please

The 840 evo is rather cream crackered! My empty 840 evo also shows slow performance! Will put some data on it later!

not sure about the restoration tool ? where can i find this ? the firmware states in the samsung magican software for the 840 evo (this is the latest firmware EXTOBB6Q)

found and ran the restoration tool and it seem to made a quite a lot of inprovement .i will post pic when got time

excellent, glad you found it.

lets see if it helps fix your issue as some evos where fixed and some where not which is why they are doing another fix
