ASUS 42" ROG Swift PG42UQ

Really enjoying this screen :)

how scared of burn-in should we be when playing a HUD heavy game like Diablo 2 resurrected on an oled like this one?
Going by my history, extremely.

I noticed yesterday I had a clock burnt into the bottom of the screen as well as black bars at the top and bottom, pixel cleaning did fix those though. Unsure what my issue above was as it doesnt correspond to any games but id be wary of direct sunlight on the screen to as thats the only thing i can think thats caused the issue above.

Guys, what is better to choose Displayport or HDMI 2.1? I have a 4090 video card. There is a problem, after rebooting the computer, the monitor does not want to wake up. HDR is muddy and colors are not vibrant. Firmware installed the latest V33. It's sad for this price.

I’m on HDMI 2.1 with the supplied cable into a 4090FE, get instant alt tabs compared to DP having a slight delay.
Everything else no difference between the two for me.

try reflashing your bios again, i had to do it twice, the first one didnt take and had that same issue, i reflashed and it was bright.

Wow, Never heared of direct sunlight reflections being burned into a screen :-O

Btw you can use „Buttery Taskbar“ to remove the small border of the auto hidden taskbar.

This I heared multiple times. So right now HDMI 2.1 > DP.

Its the only thing that i can think that would have caused it, it was fine when i got it then tiger stripes and i hadnt really used it that much i used my ultrawide for day to day use only using the 4k if i was playing a particular game, even when i gamed i found it better using it in ultrawide mode but that gave me burn of where the bars were, my trackmania clock was burned in too although pixel refresh fixed both of those.

I have a fully black background and when I enable HDR in windows it turns grayish. It’s perfect black in SDR.

Is that normal? Thanks :)
Figured it out.

After installing the Asus display drivers and setting full 10 bit rgb, 138Hz hdr works as expected! Guess I reset these settings with the latest Nvidia driver update..

So after using the v33 for a few months now, the 138hz is still bugged. I still get the wakeup isue even in 120khz and on top of that 138khz seems to introduce a new problem now where certain apps (like libre office for example) when i open their window, my monitor completely spazes out and goes black for a few seconds, then back to normal and black till i close the problem causing program. When i go back to 120khz all is good.
Also i recommend everyone to follow this guide if you wanna use HDR, it really makes a big diference.

Brother from another mother. Forced to run the HDMI 120khz train too. try DP again after the next firmware...WHENEVER....that is!

The best part is asus considers current hdr as "fine", "the way it should be" and "no one else is complaining about it", even tho it's completely subpar and requires work arounds just to be decent when it's the same panel as c2 that works better out of the box. This crushes hopes of them actually fixing their **** in upcoming firmware updates.
Last asus product i'll ever buy in my life.
