Try running a pixel refresh cycle first, that looks like something that appears during that cycle and maybe it got stuck midway?

i was using it normally then the screen went funny at first i thought it was my GPU so it wasnt mid way through a cycle

but i guess i can try a manual refresh when im back

heres more pics

and OcuK are out of stock now too... so might be without one for a while

Def strange. Try a manual refresh cycle and maybe a full screen reset. Maybe also a firmware flash even if it’s to the same ver you’re on. Only reason I say that is because the line positioning I’m sure is something I’ve seen before when it was running a cycle

I wouldn't mind seeing the pics. I can't even figure out where the mounts are. Is it those rubber things on the back?
Yes, the rubber things come off and you have M5 (IIRC) holes beneath.

With my vesa mount extender I first installed the "vertical bars", then the horizontal ones were attached to the vesa 100 holes in the vertical bars. Then I removed the head from Ergotron HX monitor arm (this step varies by make/model), attached it on the vesa mount extender 100x100 holes and dropped the display in place. Then removed the included stand.

Heres a image to my little bits and pieces VESA adapter using the 300x200 VESA plate i bought on amazon for my previous CX48 and some extensions that i believe? came with the Ergotron HX arm with some added washers. Seems strong so i’ll leave for now considering the other options are out if stock.

V031 firmware is live

Just updated mine and using an i1Display Pro and i1Profiler software set to D65 120 cd/m2 sRGB 2.2

I am now using these settings:

Brightness 61
Uniform Brightness On
Display Colour Space sRGB
Colour Temp User Mode R 100 G 90 B 63

Really had to drop the Blue down to get 6500k on User Mode with the new firmware!

Hi,

New monitor coming next week but I have a question regarding updating the firmware? The instructions from asus are to connect USB 3 uplink port and hdmi lead. Why do you have to do this? I will be connecting via DP so can I just use that? Does the monitor come with the USB uplink cable as I assume you need this for the data transfer.

Anyone got access to the latest firmware v031?

Currently running v028 so i assume the latest isn't out for general public yet?
I would stick with v028 if you care about accuracy in terms of picture quality (from reading reviews where they tested both). Asus have messed about with the colour temperature in order to boost the brightness by a tiny amount in HDR for marketing reasons.

Totally disagree. V028 is pretty terrible for all use due to the aggressive ABL. That was only fixed in V031. While the HDR Gaming mode was made cooler and brighter, the HDR cinema mode is fine and more accurate so you can just move to that.

I will defer to your expert opinion, still it annoys me when manufacturers mess about with the default setup in ways which I believe diminish the image overall instead of enhancing it.

Does the monitor come with an USB uplink cable for the firmware update? I have a standard printer cable so can I use that if not?
Comes with the USB cable, high end DP and HDMI.
I’m using DP but plugged in HDMI just to run the firmware update then disconnect it.
