Asus p5q-e and Q9550

Thanks for teh replt setter, Yer i saw that option and had a play around and as soon as the ram is under powered with an over clock on CPU its an overclock fail on boot up..

I have my CPU not at 3.80 and the ram at 1072 and its stable after tests so im leaving it at that for now...

sorry to bring this up again gang, but any more idea on why i get an overclock fail if i underclock the ram to around the 900MHz area when overclocking the CPU to 4.0GHZ?

Thanks
Paul

I get the same, as soon as I get 400 fsb or above i fail blend test. I can run my ram happily at @940 (ocz Platinum 6400) at fsb 375. I have a p5q deluxe and a 9450 C1 stepping with a VID of 1.15.
It will fail 1:1 @400, so i figure its got to be a nb or fsb setting.
I have also tried some crucial balistix 6400 which will do 1066 all day long, but still cant crack 400 fsb. I have tried so many combinations of settings from this thread...still no joy.

My RAM is 1066 Corsair XMS2 and its 1066 ram. If i go below at all i get a overclock fail. If i go over i dont get an overclock fail but windows wont boot up!!

I can get a boot up at 3.9GHZ with the RAM at 1077 (i think) but then after a few mins i get a blue screen with "not equal value" in there... Then comp restarts

I got ram coolers on there to cool the Ram down but is is safe to run the ram over the recomended Max 2.30V?

Would be nice to get it over 3.79GHz

Hi ya Setter. Ok i used all the same settings as you and the problem i got is when windows tryed to start there is a lack screen with a grey loading bar at the bottom with "windows loading" then dont get a singal to my screen.
I will take some screen shots of all my setting for you all to have a look at to help assist me further. Thanks all again.

OK here are the pics of my setting at 3.79GHz and very rarely get a blue screen

The two spread spectrums should be set to disabled for overclocking.

I have the FSB strap to Northbridge set to manual and then i pick the speed i want the ram to run at from the drop down list.

Problem is if i have it any were far off 1066 i get an overclock fail or windows wont boot up...

and when having the cpu over 3.79 it takes the ram either to much under (which creates overclock fail) or to far over either coaresing blue screens after a few mins or not lettings windows start up

Also what about the advanced settings?
Ther is things in there like "FSB strap to Northbridge settings" any changes in there from standed would anyone recommend?

Set the PCIE FREQUENCY to 101.
Set The two spread spectrums to disabled.
Also set the Margin Enhancement to performance.

Thanks
