Asus P8P67 Update!!!

Im still on 0402, will go to 1003 when i have time, i havent overclocked yet, but i sit at 25 degress idle (room temp) and 39 load. Does an OC reli bring it up to 50? Its my first build and will be my first OC too, although i know OC got way easier now lol.

Im still on 0402 as well and im having zero issues at the moment so9 im gonna hold off updating until i need to.

Also I haven't had any issues with cold boot what so ever. Before I put the board in the case, I reset the cmos and took the battery out for 5 minutes. Someone on this forum recommended you do that.

Cold boot issue may be related to using an SSD as the primary - at first I didn't think I had it, because my monitor has to switch through analogue/hdmi/digital to find the correct monitor input, but apparently I do. To be more specific, I have a Crucial Real C300 128GB.

e: how are people doing with Xonar sound cards? I installed a DX in the x4 slot, and it bsod'd on restart after failing to install the drivers (claiming the device was not correctly powered), but has since been working fine.

Well I finally have my build up and running. Cleared the CMOS and booted fine first time. Ran Memtest, been into the bios and windows OK. I updated the bios to 1253 and rebooted............nothing. All i have now is a red light next to the CPU. It wont even load up the BIOS screen. Ive tried clearing the CMOS a few times leaving more and more time before trying again but still nothing. Anybody any suggestions before I set RMA in motion?
Or could the CPU be dead after a few minutes?

Im using an SSD, but i have it connected to SATA_3 as 1 and 2 are the 6gb ports.

Any particular reason why? I'm running from the 6Gb Intel with the Marvell disabled, and the Intel Rapid Storage Technology summary says that the drive is indeed using the 6Gb/s (compared to 3Gb/s for the #2 port, connected to a 1T 7200RPM Spinpoint F3). Excepting the double booting issue, I seem to othewise be fine now. I have not updated to bios 1253 yet, which is supposed to fix the issue for some people.

Might just be a loose power cable to the cpu. Maybe nudged a dicky connection whilst resetting cmos? I'd be tempted to pull it apart and rebuild.

Does anyone else use the spacebar on their USB keyboard to power on? Doesn't seem to work for me on this board, using the latest bios. I obviously have it set in the APM section to "power on by keyboard / spacebar"

My Xonar DX doesnt work in the top X1 slot. Windows cant detect it. Works in the x4 slot tho. Unable to try the middle x1 slot as its covered by the graphics card. I need to test another pci e card to see if the slot is actually defective.

Has anybody tried rolling back the bios using rom on there hd rather than a usb stick? somebody on another forum has claimed this worked for them

lol PC rebooted 4x before posting then Overclocking failed message.

this board amazes me

Bump! Am I the only one experiencing this? Works fine from sleep mode but can't cold boot by pressing the space bar on my keyboard.
