Asus ROG Swift PG32UQX - 32" 4K, 144Hz, HDR-1400, G-Sync, 1152 Mini-LED zones

No hdmi 2.1 hahaha they can keep it. Even the viewsonic for €999 has it.

LG, please can you just bring out a 32 inch oled and offer warranty covering burn in. I would happily spend £2k on one.

Going to need welder's mask to avoid face burns...
But still no high true contrast and capability to show bright objects accurately on dark background without backlight leak/halos etc of Liquid Crap Displays!
All this money wasted on BS should have been used to develop microLEDs, better lasting OLED replacements etc to get true flat displays.

I say marketing scums should be tied next to electric arc furnace to get that excessive brightness they want:

I fully agree but till they do come out with something better then we just got to put up with the best of these turd LCD's like we had to for about the last 20 years :p

Reason why i bought two pioneer plasma TV's and then an OLED as my main TV's over the last 14 years instead of an LCD TV..:)
Many years ago i used to have my old dell 2405 LCD monitor setup right next to my pioneer plasma and boy did the plasma picture quality make the LCD picture look crap

This was rumoured a while back too based on a listing of the screen on taobao.com but Asus later got in touch with me directly to refute it and say that it will not feature HDMI 2.1 at this time. I very much doubt it will be included I’m afraid, as that would also require a whole new Gsync module from NVIDIA too. Time will tell I suppose for sure but based on what Asus told me specifically about this topic I would be surprised

Has there been anymore news on this monitor ?
(Release date, Price, reviews etc )

Dam i keep forgetting i will also need a 3080/3090 with a HDMI 2.1 output to get the best out it :(

I’m interested in this too. I have been waiting for the screen size to increase from the 27” 4K for too long. I will be upgrading from the PG35VQ. I was hoping for HDMI 2.1 on this though.

Hi Steve, What do you think of your PG35VQ ?

Hi mate. I absolutely love it. The only downside is the Ultrawide support, although most games are fine. I’ve had no issues with mine at all. I’ve tried a 4K 27” since buying it and it felt horrible, it’s the size. This one caught my attention. I bet it’s not cheap though.

The majority are no problem, it’s just the few older games such as Max Payne 3, Fallout and Skyrim that’s been problematic for me. I would recommend the monitor to anyone, if you can get it for a good price that is. I wouldn’t say it’s worth what I paid for it. Once you start enjoying it, you forget the price

Damn just elsewhere it was IPS just before I seen above post, not my cuppa.

I am not really needing 4k at 32" (somewhere between 32-40" be nice) and not wanting 144HZ after having 240HZ as LCD need all the help to look fluid.

@chaparral after extensive googling and researchingz, I’m now thinking I’m going to wait for the updated Samsung G9. Should have great contrast and be really good for productivity too.

I just googled it

Looks like a huge update Mini Led and maybe up to 2,000nits  (Am off now to overclock my PG35VQ power supply :p)
Samsung announces the Odyssey G9 2021, a 49-inch curved gaming monitor with a mini LED panel, a 240 Hz refresh rate and a 2K native resolution - NotebookCheck.net News
Nonetheless, the switch to mini LEDs should greatly improve peak brightness levels. Accordingly, the Odyssey G9 2021 supposedly peaks at 2,000 nits in places, albeit only while displaying HDR content.

Yeah it looks great. I think that it will be awesome for working on multiple documents (as I frequently do) so think it could be a winner.

Obviously OLED has ‘the bestest’ blacks but I wonder if their praise is a result of the trend towards IPS panels and matt screens which have the ability to cause perceived colour differences due to blooming.

My current TV is this one from about 5 years ago.

I still think it’s absolutely awesome. As in, how does it look this good, despite having the edge dimming. I think it’s because of the max brightness being so high. You can get over not having the deepest blacks of everything else is bright. In standard viewing situations, the TV looks brilliant IMO. It’s only during pitch black ‘credit crawls’ you see blooming effects.

So high brightness mini leds and a VA panel looks like a real winner for me.

If you have an AMD card, the new 43” 4K ASUS has just been put up for pre-order.... think it’s still too big though.

The way i see it is that IPS panel manufacturers are competing with OLED by upping the brightness of the screens.

This is all fine for TVs but not so good for monitors IMO.

Look at the sublime Samsung Neo QLED TVs. They are coming in rated at 4000 nits and are actually 5000+ in tests.

This makes for TVs which can compete with OLED but I would only want to use that in a bright room and not be sat 60cm away from it.
