£3k for an LCD which still has a backlight be it lots of them and IPS so poor blacks and contrast ratio in 2021 no thanks, I would hold off on next big breakthrough or buy an smaller LG OLED TV/monitor when they appear (stuck at 48" for now).

I be really interested in testing one of these against my FALD VA panel to see what the difference is like

I want to see if Mini LED with FALD can make an IPS panel get rid of the IPS glow and get roughly the same dark blacks as my VA FALD panel does

I would always choose the VA if it was a good VA vs a good TN vs a good IPS, grew up on CRT/Plasma so IPS not so nice contrast ratio for me.

It be even more madness if does get released with only HDMI v2.0 at that price

There still listing only HDMI v2.0 on there website

I think HDMI 2.0 may be a limitation of the Gsync Ultimate module which is already several years old. Nvidia should really update it.

What monitor are you using now ?
Still my 24.5” 360hz ASUs ROG thing.

Looks great in most situations but I love horror games and DANG that IPS glow just completely ruins it and is really distracting.

However, I gather that FALD can massively offset the IPS glow... any thoughts on this? If that is the case, I’m all in...

The upcoming 32" G7 4K monitor should interest you then, VA/HDR1000 and Samsung said to expect a reasonable price :) (am thinking 800ish personally)
Cheers mate will keep an eye out, sounds good!

There is going to have to be a compromise somewhere and if the FALD can offset the IPS glow then I’m potentially in on this one.

The other contender was the refreshed g9 with the mini leds...
