One shop went live earlier for the AMD 5950x sold out in just seconds OMG!
Any news from ETA? I cannot wait, this B550 Tomahawk is a pain in the ass with the 5950X...
I have pre-ordered from a website who told us they should come in stock today. But still no news.
This MB "paper"launch is a joke
I've emailed them asking for a status update on the stock/shipping situation, will let you guys know if I hear anything back.
Same website as where I ordered from I presume. They have until the 26th to ship my order before I cancel it and get the VIII Hero WiFi instead.

GREAR513 Asus ROG CROSSHAIR VIII DARK HERO X570 - The delivery date for this item is currently in clarification.
Received the below from them this morning:
Like you eloquently put it, I'm tired of paper launches so I'm cancelling next week and going with the regular VIII Hero WiFi.
Boards arriving to Netherlands hub tomorrow or early next week.... Ship to UK disti... Then ship to Ocuk... Estimate is 10 days out...
Very solid board.
Hi - if I buy a regular Crosshair Hero with wifi, will I be able to bung a 5000 series straight on it without flashing the bios? This seems like it should be obvious to figure out..... yet it eludes me. Any help would be much appreciated, particularly with finding out (a) what the oldest bios version is that supports the 5000 series and (b) how you figure out what bios you have if you buy the thing brand new.
Sorry for the noob questions. Thanks.
Cool, thanks for the reply.Hi, Nope, you have to be make sure, the BIOS is already updated for the one, which supports Zen 3. But you can update it via pendrive, you do not need a CPU for the process. That mobo has been equipped with USB BIOS Flashback feature, so just prepare a pendrive ready with a new BIOS.

Edit - you would think it would expressly say on their bios page, but no? What a chore :/

Edit 2 - is this it? The bios version needs to be at least 2206?

The reason being all motherboards supplied to retail since August September time have a bios onboard that allows you to boot with 5000 series.
Just a quick note that OcUK have had 10+ Crosshair VIII Hero (non Dark) in stock for a good while now, and that these will not have been updated to the latest BIOS and will most likely need to updated before a Zen 3 chip can be dropped in.Yes you will be able to. The reason being all motherboards supplied to retail since August September time have a bios onboard that allows you to boot with 5000 series. After you boot you can then apply the latest one. Of course with that board you have the option also to use the Bios Flashback if it doesn't boot, but I would try first.
Thanks for that tip. I've just purchased the non Dark version myself and should have it delivered this week. Can I ask how you came across that information because I'm still not 100% sure whether to try the bios flashback method on it while I wait an age for a 5900X.
Is been reported quite widely here is rough overview although doesn't mention dates they first started implementing retail stock, but it has been stated other wise AGESA 1.0.8.0 has been preinstalled to stop the problems customers were having before with bios and not having cpu's to update with.
