Yep - hopefully my waiting shall soon be over, at least I received my GPU this week and I'm expecting the CPU within the next few days and maybe the MoBo too (but no chicken counting just yet on that one). Beyond that I've still got open orders on a couple of rads and also a block for the GPU. Hey ho.
 
Pre-ordered from a competitor for around £440 including shipping, which is a bit more than I was planning to spend on a motherboard but ah well.

They only had about 5 in stock coming in on the 26th, gone within an hour.

Agree, seems that UK is very low on most of the tech manufacturers sells priorities.

Hopefully OCUK, will provide an new update on the availability soon.

Anyway I shouldn't eager as I am 843 in the Ryzen 5900x Que (feeling like I will receive it in 2021)

Whatever the case, they don't let you purchase from the website any more (just says "Watch Availability"). I got mine from a competitor but as always it's a gamble to see if you actually get one or not when they release, no telling how many units have shipped to the various retailers.
 
im assuming if OCUK had an ETA for a delivery of these they would have already done a pre order right ? im not taking any chances in terms of how few stock there is at the moment / how hard is is to build this new rig at this current time. I waited to order when everything is in stock and now even the case is out of stock haha. apparently the pre order for the cpu and gpu was the least of my problems.

OCUK and other UK retailers will be the last to get stock given the geographic position. A competitor (in midland Europe) advised they were receiving stock on Friday, an OCUK rep said they were supposedly receiving some on the 23rd.

Can't speak for why they haven't done pre-orders, possibly because the amount of units being shipped for the motherboard is entirely unknown. Baseless speculation on my part though.

Regarding your comments on building just now, I feel ya buddy. I've somehow managed to get my hands on everything I need (even a 3090 and 5900X, my luck will run out eventually) but now it's just the mystery motherboard which ASUS has been treating like smoke and mirrors since it was announced.

i want to order everything that's available before its unavailable and building a pc especially since i havent in 4 years and first time water cooling is hard enough with out having to compromise choices based on availability. i have watched a lifetime of you tube to play catch up.

The power arrangement is different but I don't think it changes the layout of the board or changes the dimensions of space.

Yeah for sure, seems to be partly supply issues but also OCUK perhaps not having as much buying power as we're led to believe. You can chance getting the Dark Hero at an EU competitor site but like I said previously; it's a gamble whether you'll get the first batch or whether you'll have to wait.

Me personally, I'm all in since I want this system built before Cyberpunk.
 
On two Swedish stores, this was listed for release on the 17th. Then It changed to the 23rd and now they say "unknown" and "January 4th". Another one says "December 6th (unconfirmed)". I don't think you will see these in store for some time. Asus failed big time with this launch. I gave up and just ordered the Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) instead. It's not like you will notice any difference anyway, and even though the Dark Hero looks a bit nicer, most of it will be covered up by the CPU fan (got a CoolerMaster Masterair MA620M waiting) and graphics card anyway. I mainly wanted it for the passive cooling, but my chassi already has 6 fans so it's not like an extra one will be noticable!
 
Can't recall a launch that went well lately (3080, 6800 XT) and now this. Guess it's not a good time to buy PC hardware.
I've found Dark Hero listed on a German store with an unknown availability date and pulled the trigger. If it takes more than a week or two, I'll go with Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) as well as I have a mobo for now (x570 Aorus Master), a crappy one that is since sometimes it won't POST.

I've kept my Dark Hero order for now. Maybe I switch mobo when it's relased, and sell my regular Hero. I simply couldn't stand looking at my Ryzen 5800X och RTX 3090, just lying and waiting on my drawer...
