Asus UL30A

Picked mine up this morning! Very impressive, thanks for bringing this thing to my attention!

The trackpad isn't as bad as some people claim, a very light touch is all that is required and it's fine to use.

Overall very happy, feels like it should have cost much more. Looking forward to trying the HDMI on the TV later :)

I bought this a while ago - Loving it so far. The touchpad was a bit weird at first but I just upped the tracking sensitivity and it feels fine now. Does installing new drivers for the mouse get rid of the multi gesture scrolling functionality?

Stable at 255FSB (1.53GHZ).... with .9V...temps max out 57/59 core0/core1

For some reason it crashes out if I jump straight to 255FSB from 200. So I set it to 230, then 245, then 255...and it passed a few hours orthos at 1.53GHz .9V this way :/

Not a big deal though as I pretty much never shut down the computer, I just put it to sleep so I don't have to re-enter any of the setfsb settings again.

Also idle temps seem pretty much unchanged by this 300+ mhz OC

Nice tip, thanks :)

Well some people would happily pay another 100 or so for the SU7300....which is only 100MHz faster with 3 times the cache.

I'd say a 300MHz clock on the SU2300 makes up for that in most cases, and at a cost of nothing then in my opinion yes it's worth it.

Significant real world difference though? What a boring question! :p

Has anyone stuck an SSD in theirs yet? Been considering it, but the price of SSD's compared to the unit price seems too much of a rip off. And 64GB is minimum I'd want.

Its on my list of things to get.
Looking for the right deal price wise first though.

Does anyone else have issues when typing on their lap?

My thumbs/palm keep hitting the trackpad and messing around with the text while I'm typing..

Rather annoying if I'm not careful

anyone can post a pic of this laptop WITH the power supply attached. want to see how big the brick is and the shape of power pin is. i'm a little worried as i always use compact/transport mouse but the pic of left side of the laptop, power, network cable could be in the way for mouse. cheers

edit: does the laptop come with case/bag from carphone warehouse, i'm thinking of asking my gf to pick it up tomorrow morning when i'm at work. need reply quick pls

thanks

The UL20A has a keyboard combo to turn trackpad off, if the same as UL30A. Fn + F9
