At last Jailbreak 6.1 coming very soon. Yipee!

Another stupid question folks, sorry!!. I've just made a backup of my phone via iTunes and then restored it. It's went through the process perfectly fine and updated to 6.1. I've now got a 'blank canvas' to work with. I'm not too fussed about restoring absolutely everything from the backup I've just made as I'd prefer to add things one by one and once the 6.1 JB is ready later I'll just JB with that and start afresh with Cydia only installing what I need tweak wise as things were getting a tad cluttered previously.

However now iTunes has thrown up the screen below. Given that I'm not at this time wanting to drop my backup back in what do I do now, 'Setup as new phone' I presume?.

Just to clarify can i update to 6.1 and still jailbreak right? Don't want to update to 6.1 then to find out that i can't jailbreak.

Yes. That's what I've just done, well the update to 6.1 anyway (I was way, way back on 5.0.1 and jailbroken). Now you just need to wait for evasi0n to go live with the JB release. Fingers crossed it won't be long now.

I think you could just say set up as new phone and then sync individual data as you like. But if I was you I would just restore from backup and then remove the data later as you desire.

Thanks, that's actually what I've just done and its dropped all my email settings, messages, contacts, notes etc - the lot, back into the phone. Awesome. That saves a ton of hassle. Now just syncing up and adding the apps I want back into the phone. Got loads from the backup that I'm not going to bother with this time. :cool:
 
Hmmm. If definitely showed 100% a few minutes ago. Strange. Anyhow, nice link there Johnny. Countdown timer, handy.
 
Trying to decide if I will do this on release of the JB or give it a few days to settle then give it ago, in case of any gotcha's.

Of course it could just be a big hoax as well lol
