ati 5770 vs Leadtek GeForce 9800 GX2

He reminds me of a friend I used to have at school who paid £1000++ for a 486 PC 2 months before I got a P60 for less than a grand (despite me telling him he was getting the wrong PC) and then he got a new Pentium PC about a month later. He also used to say things like I'm getting a PII (note 2 not 3) 800 Mhz PC but it wont be here for weeks as it's got to come from China.

Hmmm I'm really showing my age here!! Thank god I'm not on about my Atari ST!!!!!
 
9800GX2 and then 4870X2? They're both loud, hot and very power hungry. Oh and also your PSU won't be able to handle them. Just listen to everyone and get a 5850/5830 or you can have my old 8600GT and no CoD for a week.

Just watch out for a thread in April with how he melted his PSU/graphics card or something similar and that he needs to buy a new system.

His original dual Xeon DDR2 setup lasted about a week before he broke it. :p

I thought he just gave up and then the whole zosma fiasco started...
 
:LL yes im back, and im also rather sorry :)
i shouldnt have asked that question, i new the answer.
and im sure almost all of you will be happy to know the 9800gx2 is not available anymore.
some have judged and given me a bad name, but i know i havent bean helping myself to that judgement.
i thought i got banned for as it said "personal attack"
heres the story,
PapaLazaru rtm'd my comment witch was a reply to his comment of "youre 14 you clearly know nothing"

i replyed to that, and i included what he had said without the quote ing of it, therefore he was able to report my comment as targeted at him "youre 14, you clearly know nothing"
and i belive thats why i was banned for personal attak :L

ITs off the clearance and that means im not getting it, looking at the new stuff on the clearance some of it looks so much better than the 9800gx2.
Firstly i noticed now i could get a ati hd 5830 for £70 + postage

anyone knows what they compare to 786mb gtx 460 as there only about £80 on the clearance at the moment?
bare in mind im probably only going to run 1 dvi 17" moniter at a fairly low resolution "1080 by 1280" or sumink

Frankly Zac, i thought i was trying to prod you in the right direction with your previsou threads, and i genuinely was interested in (and trying to defend) your dual xeon build, but if you really cant see past your stubbornness and look at all of these reasons and all of these people warning you from past experience that you're making a bad descision then god help you.

and this is before ive taken the PSU in to account...

Well, honestly you have and you did, and i thank everyone for the help although in my previus comments it doesnt look like it, but haveing a 15 day bann gave me time to think about my attitude and the way i was abusing the help i asked for.
I did have a lot on my mind when i was bieng ignoratn and was i little depressed, but im back on track now and loving life at the moment.

as from now im going to try hard to listen to the great advice you all give, Thanks OCUK and the great people hear

Urm defiantly not, something simalar did happen with my dual xeon build and my motherboard pins for cpu socket lga 771, but this was down to me being a prat :L as i took the cpu of without cleaning it or the cage and when i took it of some dripped into the pins, and i couldnt get it out therfore shorting my motherboard :L, and so i sold up and started on my x6 Zosma build.
But that was a serius mistake, i guess its all down to experienced, and atleast know i know never to do anything like that again, and im evan using non conductive ic diamond in my new build just in case.

nope i have to wait till tommorow for my b-day, what im going to do is create a new thread witha a real build log, becuase theve all sorta turned into build logs withou the intentions of it.
and that is were ill explain everyrthing and post picutures hopefully later today
