** ATI 7970 NOW IN STOCK & AVAILABLE!! **

Hrm I'm wondering if this will cause GTX580 prices to drop. Don't like the look of any of these tbh - almost all reference HSF (and probably noisy?)

I'm sure it won't be long before versions with custom coolers are floating about though.

The XFX one looks non referrence to me with the twin fans.

Remember when 5870 was 370, pound was about 2:1 to the dollar

Now its about 1.5:1

So

330 x 25% = 412.5 - £8 more for the cheapest 7 series.

So pretty spot on really, its the exchange rate IMO not AMD's pricing.

Thats true, i didn't consider this so actually thinking about it now pricing is pretty spot on. I think those who can afford it will make this sell like hot cakes.

Its going to be another 5870 and gtx 480 scenario again

I didn't know AMD products could be so expensive. Isn't it going to be hideously inferior to what nvidia throw out anyway? Just a wild assumption based on AMD's track record, especially if processors are to be considered, loldozer.

A price that high will only make people wait to see what nvidia bring out.

Sales seem to say otherwise, early on sales on superb, like hotcakes. :)

Still 10+ on all models except ASUS and MSI (which seem to be the big movers). Of course I have no idea how many you had of each initially or what would be considered a good first day for new cards. :)

The OcUK one is pretty competitively priced but I don't understand why the others are so much more expensive given their all reference design cards, albeit some come with an extra years warranty! UK pricing strikes again!:rolleyes:

I'm surprised these cards don't come with the backplate aswel! Those who are wanting are sleeker more cosmetic design will be crying over this!

I know some of the reviews stated cards should/might come with Active MiniDP adapters, do we know if any of the cards in stock come with adapters, or would I need to buy them separately? I've currently got a full size DP to DVI adapter so I can't re-use my current one.

That's because they were just released. There is always going to be a big batch of desperate fools buying them the moment they can. It's just not a price people expect from AMD. If this was nvidia we wouldn't think anything of it.
