i didn't say i use the windows update .

i said i always install over the top via exe file.

anyone else tried to use powerdvd v7.3? Mine doesnt work with the 8.10 drivers.
Will try downloading a trial of v8

Oooh er i never knew my card did hyper memory. Do you guys reckon thats good or not?

I only have 1.5 gig DDR2 533 on this machine right now. So i guess the memory is really being used up now. Im buying 2 gig of 800mhz ram soon. Hmm now im thinking maybe buy 4 gig.

How would 2 x 1 gig 800mhz in dual channel and then 2x512 533mhz ram dual channel run together?

Probably tried this already but have you pressed "Alt" & "Enter"? Sometimes when ive uninstalled drivers and re-installed, it only opens in windows the size of the previous resolution when the drivers were not installed.

I did just try some more games and if the resolution wasnt set to the right aspect ratio or native res then it was in a window

No...basically games will not run at all in fullscreen. The sound is there but that's it. The screen is just black. The only way to get a picture is to press alt+enter and go into windows mode.

Trying alt+enter in the reverse does nothing apart from give me a black screen.

sorted my flickering screen out in 3dmark06 still flickers when a flash bang goes off in css so have 2 run aa @ 16x untill they sort
