ATI Catalyst™ version 10.7

installed the latest version from the microsoft website and it still fails to load.

I had the same prob a while back and the only way to get the CCC to work was to uninstall drivers, reboot into safe mode, run driver cleaner at least twice, reboot into normal mode, re-run driver cleaner, instal latest drivers and it worked. Might be worth a shot.
Another thing to try is to select the "CCC runtime" option in the pc start menu, that should kick the CCC into life.

This was happening to me lastnight when I tried to upgrade the drivers. This morning with a clear head I used driversweeper first then installed them. No problems now. Xfired 4890 btw

Going to try this now...

Edit: Worked like a charm. First time I have EVER had to do that with ATI drivers.

Sadly I've even tried this and it still fails to work lol. The card is being sent back for RMA (again). Never ever had problems with drivers or ati hardware before and then I get both in the same month...

Silly question, but how do I know if thw 10.7a's are installed. Next to driver version it still just says 10.7. I thought it should say 10.7a. Did I install the wrong version by mistake?

whilst i've never had a problem with installing ATI CCC i've noticed these flicker a lot in IE8 or even Safari. very annoying. gaming is ok but normal day to day surfing is affected.

gone back to the best drivers ever so far.....................10.4a

Getting problems with these 10.7's. Occasionally games such as GRiD And ArmA 2 play fine for a few hours and then the screen goes all black with the "No display detected" and the GFX card driver fan goes mad and puts itself on 100%. Only way to solve it then is to do a reboot :( (Using a 4870 Sapphire)

Had issues with SC2 when using 10.6, tried 10.7 to see if they'd fix it, and still having same issues. Only happens in SC2 so perhaps its just the same.

a lot of people seem to be having issues with that game :(

Drivers themself seem fine though, no problems elsewhere. BSOD'd when installing first time, but I think I just upset my computer somehow :o

which are the better drivers to install as i am still on 10.2 or should i wait would i get much more improvment.

not to much into gaming more desktop and HTPC hi def video playback

cheers

I'm sticking with 10.5a at the moment. Anything since then just seems to cause problems on my 5970 although I suppose that could be a crossfire thing.

Not sure what's going on at ATI but they seem to be going through a bad patch with drivers at the moment.

Thank you for a quick reply Raven. Hopefully it will work with all Flash videos from now on.

Did anyone else experience such problems with their overclocks? I had to run my card at 770/1225 to even watch a video...

I only get the problem when the GPU is locked via profiles the GPU has to run at 400MHz to decode video else it crashes.

Seeing a strange issue with the 10.7a.
After playing Starcraft 2 the mouse cursor corrupts. Reboot fixes it, and enabling mouse trails masks it slightly but its still annoying.

Best drivers for my 5970 i had were: 10.3 or 10.5. 10.6 was great for benchmarks though. 10.7 was ok mind - just no improvement over previous:)
