Attention emo's

All? All what? It was not punctuated as well as it could have been but I think you've just read what you want to see and not what was written.

Having said all that <insert comma> Emo's do seem to generate a body language ..........

Not ALL emos.

But....

Having said ALL that.

So take your rolleyes back and direct it at yourself for your misreading of my post. Perhaps if you read out loud in future it'll help you.

And of course, you never followed a trend or did anything to try and fit in when you were a kid.

I did, but then I would not stoop to making a joke at the expense of physically or mentally disabled people to try and show how witty I am.

emo girls so very very hot
emo guys, just look gay

explain if you can

just another trend where they all wanna look like each other, it'll be something new in a year or so

I think that the emo 'scene' kids look fairly similar regardless of their gender, its all part of that androgenous look, men look like women and vice versa. Some of my sisters mates would be called emo and some are pretty hot. I listen to some so called emo music cos my sister played it to me neither of us are emo, boys kissing boys just gay; i think its time you came out the closet. Have to say all the 'scene' kids on myspace seem to be far to prententious, self interested tortured souls for someone who has only jus gone through puberty.

Ah ha, now you insert the comma.

Having said all that emos do seem to generate a body language and image that says "pick on me, punch me and hurt me, I am pathetic" so I can understand why people dislike them.

Maybe you should be more clearer then, a comma makes all the difference.

Must be emooooooooooooooooo.........

Personally i dont any emo's but meh whatever floats their boat...although i find them a strange breed. Some of the emo lasses i have seen are kinda hot in a gothic chick way but i dont think i could deal with one...imagine all that emotion being released all in one single fell swoop lol:p.

the SINGLE positive thing about emos is the almost total absence of self confidence...which means, should you ever find a fit one...it aint hard to bed em.

Speaking from experience eh Baldy?? :p. Sadly i dont think id ever find one, not that i would as im too old for them....could try and turn my gf into a hot emo girl...would mean i would have to re-program her brain and emotions...:p

What he had in his first post:

Having said all that emos do seem to generate a body language.........

VIRII corrected me and added a comma.

Having said all that <insert comma> Emo's do seem to generate a body language ..........

First one implies that having said all that emos do seem to generate....saying that's all they seem to do.
Second corrected version without the comma is saying that having said all of that, emos do seem to etc.

I was annoyed by the generalisation portrayed that all emos apparently do generate a body language and so on.

What on earth are you talking about?

The comma may make it "more clearer" but it does not change the meaning.
Just apologise to him for misreading his post and move on.

Erm...it implies no such thing..

"Having said.......all that emos do seem to generate..."

what the? that makes no sense..I think youre having problems reading it mate..Not quite sure how you read it like you did..:o

It does make a difference, not being arrogant or attempting to cause problems. :)

Having said all that emos do..
Having said all that, emos do...

Maybe i'm not being entirely clear. Will repeat in a different way or something. First one is saying that having said all that emos do is <blah> and i didn't like and i still don't like the generalisation. The second one is summarising the post, having said all of the above, emos do <blah>.

We understand what youre saying...but its wrong.. :o

Your interpretation of the first post makes no sense..the sentence is all wrong...Even without the comma, I read it as...having said all that, emos do..It was pretty obvious.

I don't understand how it's wrong. I study language and it makes perfect sense to me. No comma there and that's how i read it.

Having said all that emos do..
Having said all that, emos do...

I'll drop it, keep the thread etc. I'm going to ask around.

The first one does not say "Having said all that emos do is", it says "Having said all that emos do seem".

There is only one to read that sentence that makes sense.

Which language do you study btw? It can't be English. :p

The comma was added purely to help break the sentence up a little so that it becomes easier to read, it does not change the meaning of the sentence in any way. In its original incarnation it was fine but for ease of reading only it could have benefitted from a comma.
