Audi owners in here!

It wont help. They WANT to sell you the finance product as they get more money that way.

If you look at the deals on offer from the likes of drive the deal (who often have great offers on Audi's BTW), most of the them state the discounted price is only for finance customers. Cash customers may have to put in up to £2k more.

I have never found this to be the case. They will do you a deal without finance, you just have to work at it ;)

You can obviously still get a deal. It just wont be as good a deal as if you took finance. That said, you do have interest on finance. If you can settle it almost penalty free then all the better. But you WILL get a better deal for taking finance.

Didn't even know this existed! I will get some details to them and see what price they come back with.

Or you take the finance from VWFS, and then settle within 14 days. http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?163626-Settling-PCP-early

That was an interesting read and maybe an option, I guess i just need to get into Audi and see what they offer.

I find drive the deal usually is marginally cheaper than broadspeed. Some motors can get upto 20% off (like my 530d for example, but 2.0 diesels too, unsure about petrols though as never looked at them).

Finally got round to getting the old A3 V6 up for sale, been sat not really being used much so thought better do something with it :(

Took it for it's MOT and remembered how nice that engine and DSG box combo is.

Tempting to keep it for the 3k or so I'd get for it, but really is no point having it with the company car to pile the miles on.

Another vote for DriveTheDeal.....
Recently used the, for my CLS, and their price was better than Broadspeed, Broker4Cars, OrangeWheels and so on, saved me just over 11k :p
Try CarWow, too, as they have a nice approach....

See what the brokers are doing, and then aim to get your dealer to match it.

That's what I did, at first the audi salesperson stated ' don't do discount', however a couple of weeks later when I pointed out the discount I could get online he bettered it. I think 10% from a dealer though is pushing it and 7-8% is more likely with something thrown in. My a3 saloon has just hit it's first year now and 5k miles...

You won't get more than 10-11% on an A3.

Fair enough. But then why get the A3 when the A4 costs the same due to the much bigger discount?

Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI 184PS Diesel, S line Manual 5dr - £25,087
Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI 177PS Diesel, S line Manual 5dr - £25,658

Well, okay, not the same, £571 more. Pretty sure the residual value would be that much better on the A4 anyway though. Plus, I guess the A3 has the newer 184 BHP engine.

Then again, you may want petrol, and a saloon. But what horrible petrol engine choices you have now...

Audi A3 Saloon 1.8 TFSI 180PS Petrol, S line Manual 4dr - £25,580
Audi A4 Saloon 1.8 TFSI 170PS Petrol, S line Manual 4dr - £22,575

So £3,005 CHEAPER with an A4 saloon over an A3 saloon. Might as well go for a Black Edition then?

Audi A4 Saloon 1.8 TFSI 170PS Petrol, Blk Ed Plus Manual 4dr - £23,860

And still pocket £1720 for having the bigger, higher spec car.

In fact, why have an A3 at all when you can have a 328i M-Sport for that money...

BMW 3-Series 328i M Sport 2.0 Petrol Manual 4dr Saloon - £25,904 (well, an extra £424)

The A4 is no comparison to the A3, for a start it is an old car due to be replaced in 2015, thus the discounts are higher, the A3 is selling far better to. Personally, after driving them both, there is no comparison, the A4 handles like a barge and the A3 is dynamic, no contest.. I can't speak for the BMW, aside from - well it's a BMW. Where are you getting your quotes from too, on the BMW site a 318d M sport is listed at £30,675.00 OTR

Because the A4 is stone age and the A3 is all new? I generally dislike smaller cars but would pick an A3 saloon over an A4 saloon simply because unlike the A4 it's actually current - the A4 is a hangover from the E90 3 Series generation and its replacement cannot come soon enough.

Audi really like to stretch the life out of models.
