Looking for advice on buying an Audi - considering A4,5,6
Looking for the following and wanting general advice on things to look out for -
1. Car must last 5 years due to cost of financing it.
2. Don't really want to have to change the clutch of DMF as don't do enough mileage to warrant it circa 8,000 miles a year.
3. When I do drive distance I do drive 300 miles plus so economy is nice.
4. I want good room in the rear seats.
5. Would like something circa 0-60 < 8.5 seconds (Current mazda does 7.9 but can be flexible for the right car.
6. LED running lights because I just like them!
7. Adaptive suspension sounds nice but would be considered a bonus.
8. Rear parking sensors because I am used to them.
9. Cruise control for motorway driving would be nice.
10. Entertainment system not that important.
Looking to pay circa £12,500
what is more important for reliability I am guessing mileage as opposed to age as that would suggest a less mechanically abused car?
What should I be looking out for? What are the auto boxes like. When did the 2.0 TFSI oil issues get fixed?
Avant or saloon or sportback is fine.
What is the difference between SE, SE technik and Sline. Apart from the fact the sline looks by far the best?
Sorry for all the questions etc but I am guessing current owners are the most knowledgeble
I just very recently had the same search as the above and I've just purchased a A4 Avant 60 plate 2.0 TDi 170 SE.
Unfortunately I had a bad accident last week and my 2.0T petrol vRS was written off, so had to find a car asap and didn't have much time to find a replacement. Mainly just thankful I wasn't seriously injured!
I ideally wanted a petrol as I'm doing around circa 15k pa, but there were hardly any about so considered the 2.7/3.0 diesels, but again hardly any about and I didn't have the time to wait for one as I needed a car asap.
I paid around £11k and the spec is:
- 170bhp TDi SE Spec in Grey Metallic
- Front & Rear Parking Sensors
- Sat Nav
- Cruise
- 60k Mileage (got cambelt, service, mot and tax done before collecting)
- Lumbar Support
- Bluetooth Phone Support
- MFSW
Compared with my vRS it's obviously not quite as quick and drives completely differently as its a diesel, but I am enjoying the more comfortable ride on the 17", the extra equipment and much better interior. I'm glad I went for the 170bhp over the standard 140bhp as I can imagine that would feel slightly underpowered given the size of the car. It would have been nice to have Xenons as well, but I couldn't be too fussy with the time constraints I had and it does have all the other options I was after.
Overall I'm happy with the choice I made and it's a nice car to drive. I made look to get some rear window tints as I had on the vRS and some different alloys as they're a bit average on the SE spec
