Audi owners in here!

Aaarse, has anyone any experience dealing with a leaking C6 A6/S6? Found water in my drivers footwell this morning.

Pulled a ton of mud out the sides of the scuttle panel, but my research shows this isn't going to help. I think I need to get the two actual drains on the sides, which are reasonably documented. There's another one in the middle that can block which I know how to get to.

The sun roof drains look clear at the top, but I don't know where they drain out.

I need to find the A/C evaporator drain, I'm told it's a super quick one to clear but don't know where it is, I've suspected it has been blocked for some time now as the AC tends to mist up the screen for the first 10 seconds each day.

The cabin air intake can leak and or not drain correctly, this seems to be different on the S6 due to the engine taking up a lot of that space.

All of the sponge in the dash above the water is bone dry, which is one saving grace.

Anyone here ever had an issue getting their car into reverse? Every now and then when I get in my A3, start the engine it wont go into reverse. I have to put the car in random gears or give it a good push to get it in. It's been a bit funny since I got the car but seems to be getting worse?

EDIT: 2014 A3 Sport, 10,000 miles.

It sounds broken, why would you spend any further time thinking about this on a 1 year old car? Let it become Audi's problem, it's not normal that a car won't go into reverse.

Seen similar a few times, most recently on a Passat - drain under the battery (under the scuttle panel) blocked with leaves and crap. Water comes in the cabin filter and soaks the passenger carpet and if not caught, ruins any electrics under the passenger seat.

Fix was to clear the drain, replace and reseal the cabin filter, remove carpets and dry out. Took ages as the carpet was super thick.

edit a quick look suggests the AC unit and drain is behind the glovebox, but I can't easily tell which version of A6 that is for.

Like Fox said, take it to Audi. You (should) still be in warranty

I think I know the colour you mean. I do love the red one though, when I bought my current A3 I was also looking another in red. The colour is just amazing. Shame it didn't have DSG otherwise I would have bought it :(

Here are the two, I slightly prefer the "orange" but then I am biased! I am also quite fond of the alloys on the orange one. But can't have everything!

Hah told you :D

I looked at wheels and exhaust for my R8 and bought a new motorbike instead :p

Exhaust isn't as bad, I'm hoping the original will do me a favour and leak so I'm literally forced to go get a stainless one made up.

There's tons and tons of these on the 'bay. Can I sensibly go from a 9" to 8.5" rim and keep the same section tyre (265/35R19)? Or should I look at the 9x20 version of that and spend a bit more on rubber.

Looking into a B6 A4 Avant 1.8T for ~£3k

Anything in particular to look out for? Generally seem to be 2003/04 models with >100k on the clock. Should the mileage put me off on this engine?

Mum went to pick her 65 plate Automatic A3 on Tuesday, slight issue in the fact they built it as a manual....pretty big mistake that one.

Audi Manchester have found me an RS3 at another dealership.

Unfortunately it has several options on it i would not have picked which are

The roof bars
The dynamic plus package (same as normal dynamic package except its £1000.00 more and it just means it delimited)
Reversing camera - Does anyone have experience of this on an Audi ? is it good ?
Driver assistance package - does anyone have any experience of this on an Audi? it also means it has no Quattro lettering on the front as the letters would obstruct the radar.
The gloss alloys rather than the titanium matt ones i wanted
Roof bars in black
RS3 Design pack - Red stitching to match the stitching on the crescendo red RS3 seats (nice i am sure but not at £900)

I have wanted the Audi phone box all along for the wireless charging but i have no idea if its any good ? i have a S6 Edge phone but apparently apple phones dont work with it ?

Yes, great on the S6, can't imagine they've ruined it in the current gen. Why would you need it on a '3 though?

Radar cruise control? I wish I had radar cruise.

Well id like to spec an RS3 how id like one but build dates are coming back as next may hence i am having to compromise on a car thats already built but its either got nowhere near the options id have picked or loads more.

I dont know how it works but it does have a radar and can apparently monitor the white lines on the road in front of you as well and corrects you if you appear to be drifting off ? when i spec'd mine the guy said don't bother on a car like this that wants to be driven.

That's the nature of the beast when buying something that's already built. It would probably not be so bad if it was a something more common like an A3, but RS3s are rare.
