Why would you buy an approved used TT to keep for only a month or so?

Quite a few reasons, but i suppose the main one was "because i could, so why not try another car".

Might keep it longer, only time behind the wheel will tell if i want something better / will be happy with this.

2 years ago i almost purchased a TT instead of the CC but i thought it would be too small, this is my chance to find out.

Knowing some of the 2.0TFSI love for oil i wanted a car which would be fixed no issues.

The dealer had this car priced wrong on its website (2k overpriced), so no-one was biting and had been sat on around for a month, i ended up buying the car with all the approved perks for less than a private sale (if i could even find on with all the options mine has).

Oh and it is not S-line, just has most of the options added.

What sat nav version have you got? I read a lot of complaints about the RNSE but I've always liked it. One those things where once you get used to it then it starts to make more sense.

I retro fitted the RNSE 3g to my old TT. The later versions have a glossy black surround and higher res screen + quicker processor.

I'm assuming you have the nav with a matt finish on the bezel?

Ps: if you have a 30 pin iPod dock in the glovebox then you can have my old tune2air device which lets you Bluetooth stream music from your phone (for a small fee). :)

I have the Sat Nav Plus without the black bezel, so not the high res screen or 2x 32mb SD card slots.

Used it a little today and its OK, not having touchscreen is a little odd, yep i have the ipod dock, but i also have the full BT prep, no idea if i can stream music using this, prob just keep using the SD cards and ipod. (Thanks though).

So, just a question. My partner is fascinated by Audi S4s and here in New Zealand there are not that many.

A British import has come up for sale. 68000 miles equivalent, 2010 Model Year but registered as 2009 before importing to NZ. Well specced, from what I can tell but do not know the full spec unless I ask.

Current price is $32,900.00NZD which is approximately 15,600GBP.

What would you be looking for in the UK for something like this in the sprint blue? Autotrader gives a price of 16,690GBP for a similar car but I actually have no idea with Audis.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Quite. Also talking to family in NZ (in the past, not specifically about this S4), European used cars tend to be priced higher than in the UK. Japanese ones significantly lower, my cousin was gutted at how much a Nissan S15 was worth in the UK, almost twice what he sold his for before moving here!

Thanks people, so I've asked for the list. Its a manual which is the main reason my wife wants it as that is a major part of driving and while she finds my 550i fun as it has decent power and a lot of noise, its a tiptronic and so she dislikes that.

I've asked for the spec list. If I post that here, plus any other info could you guys please give me an honest assessment? Its almost the same price I paid for my 2009 550i, but mine had only 50K miles where as this is more and I think that is why the price has dropped by almost $8K since it was listed.

Apparently leaked from a Audi US meeting.

R8 V6? Could be quite good but hope they don't drop the V10.

Wow the A5 is going to continue to 2017, it'll be a decade old at that point!

5 years since the facelift version came out...if the new one comes out in 2017.

I see plenty of the new A5s about so it seems they still sell no problem. I've even seen a couple that don't spec xenons so come with reflectors and yellow bulbs, just to grind your gears. :p

It's just odd how Audi manage to get huge lifespans out of something - the A5 came out a year before the A4 on which it was based and yet continues on after the A4 has been replaced for a further 2 years!

Love the sound of this TT. Audi got it spot on, perfectly quiet and civilised when driving at low revs and a sporty/louder tone in dynamic sport mode (which seems to open a flap in the exhaust) when giving it the beans.

One month on, 2000+ miles on the clock and I can't stop driving it. Really cannot fault it...perhaps slightly miss quattro especially when pulling away fast in 1st as you can get wheel spin. In terms of fuel economy I have noticed it getting better after about 1400 miles. I was getting between 20-25mpg to begin with but now I am seeing about 30mpg on average, the other day managed to get 35mpg on a 1 hour journey. I will have to try efficiency mode properly one day and see what it can do, but I tend to use individual or dynamic for now. :D

I do miss my diesel economy though - going to petrol has basically increased my fuel cost x2. :o

You're averaging about the same as my Golf R. It averages around 25-28mpg when driven hard.

Some owners on the TT forum say they're getting 40mpg + but I haven't seen anything like that. Perhaps once I pass 10k miles it will get even better.

I think it is fundamentally the same engine as the Golf R/S3 just with a lower tune and slightly smaller turbo?

Yours is the same as the Golf GTi engine.

The R / S3 have the following engine upgrades over the GTi
  • Lower compression forged pistons
  • strengthened connecting rods
  • enlarged wrist pins
  • stronger piston rings
  • upgraded bearings
  • reinforced engine block
  • upgraded camshafts (longer duration)
  • upgraded injectors (+13% flow)
  • larger K04 turbo producing 1.2 bar of boost (+3 PSI over K03 equipped GTI)
  • larger intercooler (+30%)
  • relocated bypass valve
  • Additional acoustic modifications have been made in order to achieve a sporty sound - use of a sound actuator (for the occupant cell) and active exhaust flaps in the exhaust system

Turbo specs:
MK7 Golf GTI 2.0T EA888 Gen 3
6/6 Blade Billet Compressor Wheel & 8 Blade Turbine Wheel
42.5 mm Inducer / 54.0 mm Exducer - Compressor
46.8 mm Inducer / 50.4 mm Exducer - Turbine

MK7 Golf R 2.0T EA888 Gen 3

6/6 Blade Billet Compressor Wheel & 8 Blade Turbine Wheel
45.2 mm Inducer / 58.0 mm Exducer - Compressor
47.4 mm Inducer / 54.7 mm Exducer - Turbine
