Audi owners in here!

The S1 went in again for more repairs (*sigh*) today . I was given a brand new A4 with 63 miles on the clock on a 16 plate, but it's a B8.5 model. It must've been in storage somewhere because it has cobwebs inside the car, and green mould is growing on the window surrounds.

Someone's also managed to break the driver's seat height adjuster. Fortunately for me the seat is now in the most elevated position , which makes it feel like you are driving a bus. It has the most hateful diesel engine which makes the entire cabin vibrate. I'm not a fan of auto stop/start but it's compulsory to use it in this car because it feels like you're sitting on a washing machine in traffic. It's such a soul-less car, and a real letdown after the B9 A4 I was given in May from the same dealership.

The old TTRS actually did better on the quarter mile (circa 11.4 seconds) while the V10 R8 r-tronic did it in 12.2 seconds or so.

The TTRS was using launch control while the R8 did not but it was still quite surprising. I imagine the V10 R8 would walk all over it at higher 120mph+ speeds.

3.5 secs to 60 for the V10 R8 vs the 3.7 of the RS... not exactly much in it.

The RS is a phenomally fast car for the price range, making the Cayman S (that they're pitching it against) look comparatively slow.

30-70 is more relevant.

Although an F type V6 fares poorly aswell for a similar £51k entry (manual RWD - 335bhp)

My A3 has gone in for a Cambelt and Waterpump change today.

Need to arrange for the gearbox oil to be replaced, and contemplating having an underside seal coating, i'm concerned that doing 20-25k miles pa, with an equal amount of driving in the winter, wet and gritted roads might have a bit of an impact to the condition of the underside. It was up on the ramp last weekend so i did get a good look underneath and currently everything looks to be in good condition, so would like to ensure it stays that way.

Very accurate comment at the end of that article:

So... let's get this straight... The TT-RS is much prettier than the Cayman... much faster than the Cayman... much better noise than the Cayman... much sweeter engine than the Cayman... much faster gearbox than the Cayman... much higher reliability than the Cayman... much nicer interior than the Cayman... much more drivable in snow than the Cayman... but the Porsche is still better because you can now and again do a little slidey thing at the roundabout when it is raining on the way back from Tesco... Lol.

:p

Cayman will steer better. Cayman will handle better. Caymans brakes will feel better. Cayman will put a bigger grin across you face on most country roads. The above or this...you decide and buy the one you prefer. I like my stuff more.

Supercars are fast over the ton when the quick cars begin to run out of horses.

Not to sure about the new TTRS, I love the interior (No bucket seat options tho , the virtual cockpit but the alloy wheel choice is pretty poor and its just a MK2 outside with straighter lines. I do wish they made a radical styling change like from the MK1 to MK2 TT.

Also the new engine block is aluminium so if Audi have skimped on it there wont be many big builds :( Where as the MK2 has a few 1000hp+ cars in the states and a few 600 to 800hp UK cars.
